Five New Countries to Enjoy Visa-free Entry into Indonesia

There are currently only 15 countries where citizens are allowed to enter Indonesia for free (in terms of visa anyway). Applying for Visa on Arrival (VOA) will cost US$35 for most citizens from other countries. It has been recently announced that five more countries will be added to the list of countries to enjoy 30 days of visa-free stay.

It is expected that citizens from the following five countries will not need to apply for VOA starting 2015:

  •  Australia
  •  China
  •  Japan
  •  Russia
  •  South Korea

Considering the growing affluence from these regions, it is definitely a step in the right direction at boosting tourist arrival numbers and expenditure. Tourists visiting Singapore or a nearby region will then be able to make more timely decisions should they wish to visit Bali or other Indonesian cities while travelling.
