SG50 Package at Pan Pacific Singapore

The Pan Pacific Singapore (one of my favourite hotels in Singapore) celebrates Singapore's Golden Jubilee with an amazing SG50 Staycation Package. First things first, this is actually one of the rare few SG50 promotions that actually make sense since it adds value to your stay without charging a premium (unlike other hotels) - details after the review of the package for those of you who are interested.

The SG50 room package comes with the following inclusions:

  • Complimentary breakfast for two at Edge
  • SGD50 daily in-house credit
  • Internet access
  • 20% savings for dinner at Atrium, Edge, Hai Tien Lo, Keyaki and Pacific Marketplace

Even though I have stayed in a Harbour Studio multiple times at the Pan Pacific Singapore, it is still my favourite room type. There is something comforting having an amazing view of the Singapore Marina Bay from the comfort of your own room. With 46sqm of space, the Harbour Studios at the Pan Pacific Singapore have ample space for you to work, rest and relax.

I also received two boxes of chocolate pralines and some really sweet Thai mangoes in the room. I always find that the it is always the little things that hotels do that help them stand out from competition. Do I think the Pan Pacific Singapore is the best in terms of room facilities? Probably not. That being said, it is still my favourite luxury hotel in Singapore  because of the way it makes me feel. Service is impeccable and it isn't particularly over-the-top to make me feel uncomfortable.

The bathroom of the Harbour Studio comes with a soaking tub and it is also strategically placed so that you can enjoy watching your favourite shows on TV while you unwind. Integrated speakers in the bathroom will also make sure that you will be able to hear everything you see. In case you need some privacy, lower the blinds with the controls along the wall and transform the bathroom into your little private haven.

The wall-mounted TV in the bedroom can also be adjusted so you can get an optimal viewing angle no matter where you are in the Harbour Studio. Turn it towards the bathroom while you are in the tub, towards the working desk if you are getting some work done or restore it to its original position and watch it from the comfort of your bed.

I really like the contemporary design of the bathroom. Not only does it look great with the ingenious use of lights (especially at night and you will see why when you stay in a Harbour Suite), it is also really practical.

The Harbour Studios (and I do believe the lower-tier rooms as well) at the Pan Pacific Singapore now uses an in-house bathroom amenity instead of the former Elemis brand. Branded as 'em-brace' by the Vanity Group for Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts, the relatively new bathroom amenity uses a variety of interesting ingredients such as bull kelp, spirulina  and sea fennel to create a beautiful symphony of bath products that are a pleasure to use.

I stayed on Level 29 this time round and this was the view from my bedroom - truly amazing and I was blessed with such a beautiful day. Being able to see the sea, the bay area and all the iconic buildings in the comfort of your bedroom is truly a luxury - one that many of us cannot afford to have on a daily basis.

If you are a fitness-buff, the 24-hour gym located on Level Four will be sure to excite you. Steam rooms and tennis courts (7am to 10pm) are also available for your personal enjoyment. Check out the swimming pool while you are at it! The large outdoor swimming pool comes with underwater acoustics for music - definitely something you won't want to miss!

I went down to the Pacific Marketplace for afternoon tea as I wanted to spend that S$50 room credit. Do note that the S$50 room credit is only valid at in-house restaurants (excluding Rang Mahal, Match Restaurant etc.). Actually if you would like to full exploit the room credit, it is best for you to use it during dinner time since you get 20% savings for dinner at Atrium, Edge, Hai Tien Lo, Keyaki and Pacific Marketplace. Just charge the entire bill to your room and S$50 will be deducted from your total spend in these restaurants upon checking-out. Do remember that the credits have to be utilised before you check-out. Also, if you happen to stay in the Pan Pacific Singapore for a few days under the SG50 room rate, the S$50 is cumulative meaning you will have S$100 room credit on a two night stay.

PACIFIC CLUB

If you are feeling a little indulgent, purchase Pacific Club access when you are checking-in or simply book the Refreshing Pacific Club Offer rate when you are making your reservations on www.panpacific.com. Enjoy champagne breakfast, afternoon tea, evening cocktails and round-the-clock Pacific Club access on Level 38. If champagne breakfast sounds a little too lavish for you, you are free to have your breakfast at Edge restaurant or simply have in-room dining in the comfort of your own room (and in your pajamas).

SG50 RATE COMPARISON

To illustrate my example on how attractive the SG50 Staycation Package can be, I did a random search on a particular weekend in June 2015. At the time of writing, the cheapest rate available was the Pan Pacific Best Available Rate (BAR).

Priced at S$280++. the BAR comes only with complimentary internet access and on-site parking.

The SG50 Staycation rate is cheaper at S$258++ but it comes with complimentary breakfast for two, S$50 credit.
