From 11 September 2016, savour any two claypot dishes for only S$33.30++ at Hai Tien Lo during dinner from Sundays to Wednesdays - usual price for these dishes range between S$22 to S$28++ each so you are essentially saving up to 40% off!
I spent the Christmas Eve of 2015 at the Pan Pacific Singapore (the Mandarin Oriental, Singapore in 2014 and the Hilton Singapore in 2013) as part of my personal tradition. Since I wanted to take full advantage of my expiring Black status with the DISCOVERY Loyalty status then, I deliberately booked the Pacific Club room and enjoyed a two category upgrade (as per Black benefits) into the Pacific Harbour Studio (one that I have been dying to check out!) for Christmas Eve.
As I wanted to take advantage of my DISCOVERY Black benefits one weekend, I made a reservation at one of my favourite GHA properties in Singapore - the Pan Pacific Orchard. I have had 100% success rate with double upgrades and 6PM late check-out here (as part of my DISCOVERY Black benefits). The property also offers incredible discounts on weekends so it's not difficult to get it under S$250 Nett all-inclusive which in my book, is an amazing deal! During my latest stay in a Pacific Studio, I was invited to check out the St. Gregory Spa at the Pan Pacific Orchard and having heard so much about their award-winning Traditional Chinese Tui-Na Massage, I decided to give it a go during my stay.
The Pan Pacific Singapore is one of my personal favourite hotels in Singapore - it has one of the most amazing club lounges in Singapore and it is usually quite affordable when you book at the right time. This year, the Pan Pacific Singapore turns 30 and in celebration of that, the property will be launching a unique 30th Anniversary Staycation (valid until 31 December 2016!).
The Pan Pacific Singapore is one of my favourite hotels in Singapore for many reasons - the higher-tier rooms are beautiful and comparatively affordable (you can sometimes get a suite for $500), the GHA Black benefits are great, the food's always good and the service staff are always amazing. While the other restaurants (e.g. Hai Tien Lo, Keyaki and Edge) are consistently in the limelight for offering some of the best food around, the Atrium and Pacific Marketplace are often overshadowed by their better performing siblings. For instance, not many people actually know that the Pan Pacific Singapore offers TWO kinds of Afternoon Tea sets that you can choose from - English and Peranakan.
While the Pan Pacific Orchard has really good rates on weekends generally, they are usually not inclusive of breakfast. While surfing the SAFRA website this morning, I chanced upon this pretty great deal (especially if you do not already have an elite status with GHA). Stay on weekends (Friday-Sunday) between now and 29 February 2016 to enjoy room rates (breakfast inclusive) from just S$250 NETT.
Sometimes known as the ‘Food Treasury’of Japan, the Ishikawa Prefecture is home to some of the most bountiful ingredients. From 12 November 2015 to 13 December 2015, savour the creations of Master Chef Hiroshi Ishii as he executes well-known dishes like the Kano Gani (Snow Crab), Buri (Yellowtail) and Deep-fried Flounder at Keyaki (Pan Pacific Singapore).
Hai Tien Lo in Pan Pacific Singapore is the place where I've first had my initial Hairy Crab experience. If you do not already know this, the Hairy Crab season is back and from 12 October to 29 November 2015, you will be able to indulge in these seasonal crustaceans at the beautiful Hai Tien Lo (one of my favourite Chinese restaurants in Singapore!).
The Pan Pacific Orchard is the Pan Pacific Singapore's less famous sibling and it is tucked away quietly in Orchard while still being minutes away from one of the world's most famous shopping strip. The hotel can be quite easily accessed if you are coming by MRT - hop off at Orchard Station, take the underpass, exit at Shaw House (Lido), make your way down to Palais Renaissance and you will soon find yourself at this private little hotel.
