Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival (2016) with two new snowskin mooncake flavours from Summer Palace (Regent Singapore). Inspired by home-grown desserts that locals love, indulge in the Chendol with White Chocolate as well as Momordica Fruit with Longan snowskin mooncakes this year.
The Basillissimo Dinner Menu at Basilico (located within Regent Singapore) is a year-long dining affair that features a different menu each quarter of the year as part of the three-course Basillissimo (The Best of Basilico) dinner - this includes an appetiser, an à la carte main course as well as a dessert buffet that you definitely have to leave some (stomach) space for. Much like my previous article, the images photographed here are tasting portions and they are in no way representative of the actual portions you will receive at the restaurant. Having explored the flavours of the Appenine Mountains and Adriatic Sea in quarter one and two respectively, Basilico Head Chef Luca Beccalli introduces new menu highlights from the Mediterranean Sea and the Alps this quarter three (July to September) and four (October to December).
The Regent Singapore is one of the really rare few pet-friendly hotels in Singapore. If you do have a dog and you have been thinking about a pet-friendly staycation, you should check out my experience right here! Other than that, the hotel also houses one of the best Italian restaurants (Basilico) and one of the world's top 50 bars, Manhattan. The Regent Singapore is currently running a Foodie Staycation Package until 31 August 2016,which comes with S$300 Nett dining credit (per night!) that you can utilise at any of the hotel's F&B outlets - you may also utilise it for in-room dining!
Tucked away quietly in Regent Singapore, Manhattan is one of Singapore's best bars (it ranks amongst the world's top 50 bars too!) and as much as I wish to keep it a secret, it has to be shared. When I checked out the Hell's Kitchen district last year, I fell in love with the smokey Mad Dog (S$24++) . As such, when I got invited by the kind folks at Manhattan to try out the brand new Harlem district (read: menu), I knew I had to bring my drinking liver.
We embarked on a "Viaggio Italiano" journey last year at one of my favourite Italian restaurants in Singapore, Basilico. For the year of 2016, Executive Sous-chef Angelo Ciccone and Basilico Head Chef Luca Beccalli draw inspiration for the picturesque mountains and seas of Italy and create dishes that are reflective of the beautiful geography, local produce and culture. This year-long dining experience will feature a different menu each quarter and the three-course Basilissimo (The Best of Basilico) dinner will include an appetiser and dessert buffet, as well as an à la carte main course.
This Lunar New Year (2016), Summer Palace at the Regent Singapore (also my favourite pet hotel in Singapore!) is presenting an Imperial Reunion Dinner for one night only. The night of feasting will feature a lavish spread of Chinese New Year delicacies at the Regent Singapore's Royal Pavilion Ballroom as an imperial palace feast experience will be recreated. Here's what to expect from the Imperial Reunion Dinner at Regent Singapore which is happening on 07 February 2016 (Sunday) from 630PM.
As 2015 comes to a close, I would like to reflect on some of the most memorable hotel stays that I have had this year. Not only did I check out one of the most haunted hotels in Asia, I also went to the most opulent one (in my opinion). 2015 was also the year that I managed to bring my toy poodle (lawfully) to a weekend staycation that I enjoy so much (on a far-too-regular basis). In addition to all that, I also had the opportunity to experience living in my very own Serviced Suite (even for a night) in the heart of Singapore while having some time to check out one of the most beautiful beach resorts in Phuket (which serves excellent Thai food) on a separate weekend.
For an extremely limited time only (17-28 November 2015), savour the succulent meat and heavenly crab roe from the prized crustaceans of the season - the hairy crab. Chinese Executive Chef Liu Ching Hai and team has brought together a menu of à la carte items that will feature this delicious delight. The lunch and dinner à la carte menu will showcase the versatility of the hairy crab across a number of dishes such as the traditional steamed hairy crab and classic favourites of deep-fried hairy crab roll, and braised pea shoots with hairy crab meat.
Ranked Number 35 on The World's 50 Best Bars 2015, Manhattan (tucked away in the beautiful Regent Singapore) is no stranger to those in the scene. Philip Bischoff (Bar Manager) and Nicholas Trosien (Head Chef) from Manhattan has been working closely with their team of professional to introduce a brand new district to menu - the infamous Midtown West, Hell's Kitchen.
After sampling the beautiful creations from Executive Sous Chef Angelo Ciccone for Viaggio Italiano previously, I have been meaning to go back. Last month, I was lucky enough to be invited down to the Regent Singapore (which I have very fond memories of having spent a luxurious weekend here with my puppy - yes it is a pet-friendly hotel!) again to sample the brand new à la carte dinner menu at Basilico (and to meet the new head chef Luca Beccalli in person).
