The luxurious award-winning InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort has just added a brand new room concept to its existing selection of rooms, suites and villas - the Family Rooms. These rooms will put your children at the heart of the business as they cater to the needs and comforts of the traveling family. Located in the main building of the InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort, the Family Rooms retains the general Thai colonial style by using dark wooden floors and furnishings which are elegantly contrasted with vivid splashes of colour.
Starting from 65 sqm, the Family Rooms at the InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort each contain a children's corner which features a bunk bed for your children to rest and relax - just be prepared to mediate who goes on the top bunk if you are traveling with two kids. There is also ample space for your children to relax at the end of the day as bean bags and colouring books are provided in the room. Remember, a quiet time for the kids also translates into peaceful time for the parents.
To keep your children entertained and pampered, a toy treasure chest alongside junior-sized bathrobes and slippers will also be found in the room - there is no reason only the adults can enjoy the finer things in life! Additionally, kids will have complimentary access to the InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort's very own Planet Trekkers Kids Club (supervised by trained and qualified professionals) which offers activities in and around the beautiful resort.
Family Pleasures Offer
A treat for the whole family – a stay at a Family Room, Suite or Villa, including daily breakfast, two hours of complimentary babysitting services daily with a certified nanny and one 60 minute therapeutic body massage for two adults at the beach hut per stay. Furthermore, all children’s meals at the hotel outlets are complimentary, access to Planet Trekker Kids Club is free and one Junior Master Chef Class is included during the stay. The InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) introduced Business Rewards back in 2015 which allows users and professionals to be rewarded for booking accommodations as well as meeting spaces for others. The Double Play Double Points promotion which is currently running (between 01 January 2017 and 15 April 2017) allows users to earn up to 6 IHG Rewards Club points (instead of 3) per US$1 for events and stays up to 31 August 2017.
Accelerate is back for 2017 and you now have the chance to rake up some IHG Rewards Club points for eligible stays between 01 January 2017 and 15 April 2017 - perfect if you already have plans to stay in participating InterContinental Hotels Group properties in the coming year! As mentioned previously, InterContinental Ambassador members seem to get a set of offers that are tailored towards InterContinental hotels (which means it is generally more expensive to complete these challenges) and my offers for 2017 seem to confirm this.
The Crowne Plaza Changi Airport added 243 new Business Rooms in a 10-storey extension in a new wing earlier this year. The newly-opened Jewel Wing is home to the brand new Business Rooms which are all put together using Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) techniques (the very first private-sector commercial project in Singapore) and has been designed by the award-winning Singapore-based architectural firm, WOHA. Check out my review of the new Business Rooms here at the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport.
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has just signed a management agreement with Lao International Development Co. Ltd to open the first InterContinental-branded hotel in Laos. Slated to open in 2021, the InterContinental Vientiane will become the second hotel in the capital city of Laos that is managed by IHG. This new-built luxury hotel will feature over 400 rooms and it will be located near to the upcoming World Trade Centre which is set to become the city's largest commercial hub when it opens.
As 2016 comes to an end, I am once again faced with an interesting problem - the InterContinental Ambassador renewal. While I have not come close to maximising the benefits this year, I have gotten the published benefits (upgrade and late check-out at the InterContinental Singapore) on all my paid stays. The only question now is this: should I renew my InterContinental Ambassador membership with points or by cash?
Previously known as the Aston Primera Pasteur Bandung, the newly-reopened Holiday Inn Bandung Pasteur is the second Holiday Inn property by the InterContinental Hotels Group in Bandung. Located just 10 minutes drive away from the Husein Sastranegara International Airport, the Holiday Inn Bandung Pasteur offers convenient access to the city at an affordable price.
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has just announced the opening of the fifth Holiday Inn hotel in Japan - the Holiday Inn Osaka Namba. Joining other poperties in Sapporo, Sendai, Kanazawa and Miyazaki, the 314-room Holiday Inn Osaka Namba is located in the heart of Osaka, just steps away from the famous Dotonbori Street which is known for shopping, food and entertainment.
IHG has just announced the Gourmet Collection membership which is an annual (paid) membership that offers unlimited wining and dining discounts and some other perks that go along with it. There are two main tiers in this membership (Tier 1 and Tier 2) which comes with a different price tag - Tier 2 is the same as Tier 1 but it comes with a complimentary weekend stay voucher that you can utilise at any participating IHG property in Singapore and Batam.
The InterContinental Singapore needs no introduction - it is one of the most iconic hotels in Singapore and a favourite amongst many frequent travellers (many of them love the Heritage Suites which were previously know as the Shophouse Suites!). As part of a major refreshment, all the guest rooms and suites (apart from the Heritage ones which went first) have undergone an extensive refurbishment that was only completed earlier this year. While I have been to the InterContinental Singapore on many occasions (especially since I have gotten my InterContinental Ambassador membership), this was my first time at the newly-refurbished Premier Suite.
