Changes to the Le Club AccorHotels membership program are happening very soon and if you have not updated yourself about the changes, it is high time you do so because it is going to be very much more difficult to earn and retain status beginning 2017 (unless you are a huge spender!). If you have not earned or retained your Platinum status for the year ahead, you can now earn quadruple (four times!) points with the program whenever you make an eligible stay at any one of the participating AccorHotels properties in Asia-Pacific before 28 December 2016 - registration is absolutely necessary.
All you have to do is to register for the promotion above, book between now and 28 December 2016 and complete the stay(s) before the latter date to earn four time more Le Club AccorHotels Points - remember ALL points earned this year are elite qualifying so you will get to your dream status four times faster.
2,000 Le Club AccorHotels Points = €40
Just by being a Le Club AccorHotels member, you will be able to earn 25 Points per €10. Following this simple math, you will need to spend at least €800 to earn 2,000 Le Club AccorHotels Points (if you are a Classic member). - this is equivalent to a 5% cash back which is not terrible at all. With this quadruple promotion, you will be able to earn 2,000 Le Club AccorHotels Points with just €200 spend (even lesser if you are already Platinum!) and that's a whooping 20% cash back. Remember, cash backs are always good because you earn miles from the full spend and you can always spend the points when the Euro appreciates.
If you pay for your stay with a MasterCard, you will also stand a chance to win a trip to the 2017 Australian Open which include the following experiences:
- Business class return tickets for two from your Asia Pacific country of residence*
- 2 nights at the plush Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, and best of all,
- 2 exclusive Category One tickets to the Men's Singles Finals on 29 January 2017!
Hilton is currently running a 50% off flash sale once again for all participating properties in Japan, South Korea and Guam (yes this includes to marvellous Conrad Tokyo and the super-convenient Hilton Tokyo in Shinjuku). The Citi Rewards Card is one of the best credit cards in Singapore to hold in my opinion - it offers 4 miles per dollar on shopping expenses (this includes spend in departmental stores as well) and from time to time it partners up with a merchant to offer 20X Rewards which is equivalent to a whooping 8 miles per S$1. From now until the end of 31 December 2017, cardholders will be able to earn 8 miles per dollar on all eligible transactions made on Lazada or via the Amazon Prime Now App.
The InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is currently running Your World Sale to offer up to 30% off all eligible stays between 18 November 2017 and 15 April 2018 for all IHG Rewards Club members (free to sign-up!). IHG Rewards Club members will also earn Bonus Points on stays booked with Your World Sale.
There is currently a 35% sale that Hilton is running across all participating properties that you can check out here. The sale is running until 8:00AM GMT (essentially 4:00PM in Singapore) on 13 November 2017 so there's still time to take advantage of this offer. All stays have to be completed by 31 December 2018.
The Westin Singapore officially opened on 12 November 2013 and to celebrate her fourth anniversary, the property is offering a three-day flash sale (from Sunday) for weekend stays between 15 December 2017 and 28 February 2018 (black-out dates apply). Sign-up for the KrisFlyer Spree eNewsletter by 20 November 2017 to be eligible for a 20% bonus on all transactions made via KrisFlyer Spree from 24 November 2017 to 30 November 2017. All KrisFlyer miles earned on tracked purchases will be calculated based on the bonus KrisFlyer mile earn rate.
Back in July, I wrote about the opportunity to purchase 31,200 Citi Miles for S$238 - this is something that you do not see very often at all in Singapore. It is common to get bonus miles when you sign-up (or renew) and pay the annual fee of an eligible credit card in Singapore. However, being able to purchase miles at $0.0076 each is unheard of!
Uber has been my preferred method of transport and being able to earn 1 Starpoint per USD (albeit little) has been a nice bonus throughout the last couple of years. I have received an email today notifying me that the Uber and SPG partnership will end after 17 December 2017 and members will no longer be able to earn Starpoints from rides.

The DISCOVERY Loyalty program offers some of the most rewarding benefits and it is amongst my favourite loyalty programs - it offers up to 6:00PM late check-out (which is perfect for late night flights and staycation in Singapore) as well as a generous double upgrade where available when you hit the top tier Black level (30 elite qualifying nights each year). Register for the promotion to earn double tier night credits on all eligible hotel stays from 18 October 2017 to 31 December 2017.
