Following the inaugural flights to Sapporo and Jaipur earlier this month, Scoot launches a brand new, two-times-weekly flights to Dalian (one of China's top romantic cities!) via Qingdao from 30 October 2016. The winner of Asia Pacific's Best Low Cost Airline continues to extend the flight network in the region with her fleet of twin-aisled Dreamliners that is well-known for improved humidity control and cabin pressurisation.
Travellers will be able to look forward to a range of in-flight amenities like the in-flight Wi-Fi, ScooTV streaming inflight entertainment, extra legroom options and more importantly, the same incredible value for all their travels! Scoot’s and Tigerair’s combined network in Greater China spans 17 destinations presently, including Hong Kong and Macau, making up close to a third of both carriers’ combined network of 59 destinations across 16 countries in Asia Pacific. Scoot has also announced plans to inaugurate services to its first European destination of picturesque Athens in June 2017, which will be its longest flight with an estimated 11.5 hours flight duration.

made my way back to the Beijing Capital International Airport for my flight back to Singapore. Since my experience at the Air China Business Class Lounge (which I checked out in July 2017) previously has been fairly lacklustre, I have decided to try the Air China First Class Lounge instead - review of this lounge soon to come! It is definitely worth nothing that while the Air China First Class Lounge is reserved to passengers traveling on Air China and Star Alliance partners in First Class only, it is also a Priority Pass Lounge - this means to say that you will be able to access this 'esteemed' lounge if you have a valid Priority Pass membership (there is no reason why you do not have one if you hold any one of these eligible credit cards which give you free lounge access).
Changi Airport's largest restaurant, SORA, is now open in Terminal 2. The 7,760 sqft (approx. 721 sqm) space is home to a Japanese Gourmet Food Hall and it houses six Japanese restaurant brands with a seating capacity of about 300 diners. SORA, which translates into 'sky' in Japanese, marks the first time that ANA Trading - the trading arm of Japanese airline company, All Nippon Airways – is operating a food hall outside of Japan.
I flew from Singapore to Auckland (and back) on Singapore Airlines' Suites last year and have recently relived some of those happy moments from Singapore to Beijing where I enjoyed over a bottle of vintage Krug 2004 all to myself. Since I was booked a Premium Economy flight from Singapore to Auckland, I have waitlisted an upgrade from Premium Economy to Business Class for 35,000 KrisFlyer Miles and it cleared prior to the date of travel.
Singapore Airlines will soon allow KrisFlyer members to redeem their KrisFlyer miles for award tickets on Star Alliance and other partners on singaporeair.com or via their mobile applicable from 07 December 2017. More importantly, there will be an increase in required KrisFlyer Miles for some Star Alliance Award Tickets (Business and First Class only) from the very same day.
A couple of months ago, I wrote about the opportunity to purchase United MileagePlus Miles with a 100% Bonus. In case you have missed out on that, United MileagePlus is currently offering up to 100% Bonus on purchased miles. Depending on your purchase and flight history with United Airlines, the bonus may be lower than 100%. While traveling on United Airlines may not be the most enticing way to travel for most people, using these United MileagePlus Miles are a great way to get from Singapore to Australia in a premium cabin.
When I flew back from Phuket to Singapore on SilkAir, I noticed that the terminal building was different from the one that I was in back in 2015 when I visited the Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort. Apparently, this relatively new terminal building at the Phuket International Airport was only completed back in 2016 - capacity is estimated to be at five million passengers per year. While looking for access to The Coral First Class Lounge, I realised that the The Coral Executive Lounge also provided a First Class VIP Departure Fast Track Service that I took the opportunity to check out during my visit.
It has been slightly under a year since my last flight on Singapore Airlines' famous Suites and having seen the new A380 Suites (which will be debuting on 18 December 2017), I wanted to make sure that I had at least one more experience in the current Suites (which I personally prefer, in terms of the way it looks) before the existing A380s get retrofitted with the new cabin products by the end of 2020. I arranged for the limousine to drop me off at the First Class Check-in Reception of Terminal 3 where I was quickly greeted by a porter (who proceeded to take my luggage) before being ushered to the check-in desk where my boarding passes were printed and handed over to me alongside the famous golden ticket (an invitation to The Private Room). There is no reason to stay any longer at the First Class Check-in Reception and so I went through a private immigration area to quickly find myself near the SilverKris Lounge in Terminal 3.
In an partnership with PressReader, passengers traveling on Cathay Pacific (including Cathay Dragon) will now be able to gain full access to PressReader's wealth of publications 48 hours prior to departure. In doing so, travellers will be able to download full issues of their favourite magazines or newspapers to their smartphones or tablets for free - PressReader features a 7,000-strong library and it includes same-day titles like The Washington Post, The Guardian and Los Angeles Times.
Exactly one week ago, Singapore Airlines confirmed Sydney as the very first route that it will debut the brand new A380 cabin products. The first of the new A380 from Singapore Airlines will operate on 18 December 2017 from Changi Airport's Terminal 3 to Sydney. While there have been alleged leaks of the new Suites and even a seat map two days prior to the official event, it is now apparent that these leaks were indeed accurate and representative of the actual product. This is an exclusive first look at the brand new A380 cabin products (Suites, Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy) on Singapore Airlines.
Terminal 4 of Changi Airport will officially commence operations on 31 October 2017 and the first airline to operate (currently operating from Terminal 1) from the newest addition to the world's best airport is Cathay Pacific.
