In the month of October 2016, indulge in an English Afternoon Tea experience with Pink Treats at the Goodwood Park Hotel's L'Espresso. This ever-popular English Afternoon Tea buffet will feature for a limited-time only, an array of pink treats that have been specially created in conjunction with the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Diners will also receive a Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) pink ribbon pin which is worth S$2 - guests will also be able to make a minimum donation of S$2 for more pins and all donations will go towards the BCF.
Since the establishment of L'Espresso in 1968, it has been a destination for afternoon tea lovers - the English Afternoon Tea buffet is available daily with an array of sandwiches, salads, savouries, pastries, desserts, chocolate fountain and of course, traditional English scones.
Gorgeously-hued savoury highlights on this special English Afternoon Tea include Egg mayonnaise pink Sakura denbu finger sandwiches; Atlantic shrimp cocktail with raspberry aioli and Smoked salmon with beetroot mousse and avruga caviar open faced sandwiches; Beetroot smoked salmon with condiments; Salmon rillettes; beetroot cream cheese with pine nuts; Crispy potato prawns with mentaiko dip; Crispy oyster mushrooms with smoky tomato aioli; as well as Gluten-free pasta with garlic prawns and tomato cream. Perennial signatures such as Antipasti; freshly baked scones; and hot savouries such as Pork goulash in hot pot served with warm brioche will still be available during this promotion.
Apart from the various sweets and canapes that were being offered, I really enjoyed the savoury selection as well - hey free-flowing Swedish meatballs!
There were also a number of hot food dishes which were sufficient enough to make for a filling lunch. Guys who do not enjoy the sweet stuff will be able to dig in to pork goulash, baked salmon, pastas, an assorted of fried treats and other savoury (and hot!) food items. While I am personally not a fan of afternoon teas in general since I enjoy savoury hot food, the afternoon here at L'Espresso is perfect!
Be enticed by the alluring pink selection of elegant pastries such as Pink berries macarons; Pink donuts; Pink vanilla éclairs; Rose petals delight; Mini raspberry cupcakes; Strawberry tartlets; and Strawberry panna cotta. There will also be Strawberry chocolates and Framboise chocolates, along with the glistening Pink chocolate fountain accompanied with assorted fruit skewers and marshmallows.
As a befitting accompaniment, Pink Flamingo Tea from TWG Tea will also be featured in the beverage menu. If diners fancy some tipple to perk up their afternoon, they can choose to have their high tea with a glass of Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé champagne at S$72++ per adult from Mondays to Thursdays, and S$76++ per adult from Fridays to Sundays, or top up with a bottle of the same champagne at S$188++.
