InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has just announced the opening of the fifth Holiday Inn hotel in Japan - the Holiday Inn Osaka Namba. Joining other poperties in Sapporo, Sendai, Kanazawa and Miyazaki, the 314-room Holiday Inn Osaka Namba is located in the heart of Osaka, just steps away from the famous Dotonbori Street which is known for shopping, food and entertainment.
Osaka's main shopping district, Shinsaibashi, is also just minutes away from the Holiday Inn Osaka Namba and guests will be able to select from upscale boutique brands as well as something more localised. The Kurmon Market, sometimes known as "Osaka's Kitchen", is also located just a stone's throw away - select from almost 150 stores selling fresh produce, meats and seafood. The Holiday Inn Osaka Namba is approximately 40-minutes away from the Kansai International Airport (KIX) and it is easily accessed via train, car or bus.
With the Namba train station located just near by, the Holiday Inn Osaka Namba is the perfect spot to be in Osaka as all the major attractions like the Osaka Castle, Universal Studios Japan, and the Tenhouzann Aquarium are easily accessible via the extensive train network.
The 150-room (inclusive of 18 suites) W Kuala Lumpur is currently taking room reservations from October 2018 even though the official website still states that the property will be opening on 31 August 2018 at the time of writing.
When local developer EL Development Pte Ltd bought over the Singtel Hill Street site back in 2017, it has already been announced that the plot of land would be used to develop an upscale hotel. Today, AccorHotels and EL Development Pte Ltd have announced that they will build a five-star Pullman Singapore (which will also become Singapore's first Pullman-branded property) that will feature a rooftop bar and executive lounge with sweeping views over Fort Canning, the Singapore River and St Andrew’s Cathedral, along with a vibrant lobby, health and fitness centre and pool.
The iconic Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi will be rebranded into the first Andaz-branded hotel in the Middle East late 2018. The hotel which is currently owned by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) will turn the iconic ‘Leaning Tower of Abu Dhabi’ into Andaz Capital Gate Abu Dhabi.

Fairmont Jakarta has won four prestigious awards at the International Hotel Awards 2018 which was held in Bangkok last month. The property which is located in Senayan Square, was granted the title of Best Luxury Hotel in Indonesia.

The company has just announced The Barracks Hotel which is the third and last property on the man-made island and this is going to be operating under a new brand under its portfolio. All three hotels will be located at the Artillery Avenue in the Palawan area of Sentosa.
Hyatt has just opened a brand new property in southern China's Guangdong province - the 335-room Hyatt Regency Shenzhen Airport is located in the west side of the terminal hall at the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX) and it is directly connected to both arrival and departure halls via an indoor walkway.
In partnership with Vouch, Andaz Singapore is the first hotel in Singapore to launch the ConcierGO program (supported by the Singapore Tourism Board) which is a chatbot system that allows hotel guests to receive personalised response and recommendations based on their interests. This development is part of the STB's Tourism Innovation Challenge and it is in response to the challenges faced by hotel and travel agency industries.
After a series of monumental delays, Perennial Real Estate Holdings has finally appointed Kempinski Hotels S.A. to operate the The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore which is slated to open in September this year (the full range of service to follow in Q4).
