If you are looking for a hotel to stay in during the 2016 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix (16-19 September 2016) this year, check out the Conrad Centennial Singapore because reward nights are wide open for redemption! While I usually do not advocate burning your Hilton HHonors Points in Singapore since that 60,000 points can be put to greater use, it is actually wise to use them for the F1 period if you intend on being here.
The cheapest rate I can find for the Conrad Centennial Singapore is S$873++ under the HHonors Discount rate - this comes up to approximately S$1,028 after taxes. Redeeming 60,000 HHonors points would value 1,000 points at approximately S$17 which to me is pretty great value since you usually only get around S$5 on regular redemption during the weekends.
If you do not have enough Hilton HHonors points, you should definitely consider buying them if you have the intention of redeeming for room nights at the Conrad Centennial Singapore during the F1 period this year since you would most likely be targeted for a bonus - my personal account gets a 80% bonus. If you were to use your points to book the room instead of paying for it, you will only spend US$340 (approximately S$463) instead of S$1,028 (55% less!) for a night at the Conrad Centennial Singapore.
Cost of Purchasing 34,000 Hilton HHonors Points: US$340 (approx. S$463)
Bonus Hilton HHonors Points: 27,200
Total Hilton HHonors Points: 61,200

Using Chope for restaurant reservations is one of the easiest and smartest ways of doing so - you will also be able to earn Chope-Dollars (C$) with each fulfilled reservation and redeem them for dining vouchers as well as KrisFlyer miles! If you do not already have a Chope account, you should definitely sign-up for one as there are no costs involved in signing-up or using the platform. If like me, you have C$ to redeem, Chope is currently running a promotion (I do not believe it is targeted) to offer everyone a 200 C$ promo code (to be utilised on the next visit) when they redeem their C$ by 12 March 2018.
American Express is currently offering the opportunity to earn S$150 statement credit when you spend at least S$500 at any of the participating properties across the Hilton Portfolio in Asia-Pacific with your American Express Singapore Airlines Credit Card. Last year there was the opportunity to fast track into Hilton Honors Gold status with just 2 stays or 4 nights for all eligible Visa Infinite Cardholders. It appears that Visa has officially extended this offer to 30 June 2018 and eligible cards now include not only the top-tier Visa Infinite cards but also Visa Signature cards (which is shocking, considering how easy it is to get!). Similar to the previous offer, a Hilton Honors member must complete 2 eligible stays or 4 eligible nights in 90 days upon successful registration - status earned should be valid until March 2020
UOB has just updated the list of participating airlines that will earn you 6 miles per dollar (or more accurately, UNI$15 for every S$5 spend) when you book on the specific Expedia landing page using a valid UOB PRVI Miles card. It appears that Club InterContinental as well as InterContinental Ambassador guests are currently receiving a complimentary LUXE City Guide (Digital) for the city that they are visiting. About a week before my stay at the InterContinental Singapore, I actually got an email notifying me about this benefit and the whole registration process is pretty straight forward.

If you have an existing Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) with Emirates Skywards account linked, you may be targeted for an exclusive opportunity to earn bonus Starpoints. While I have not stayed in many Starwood properties this year and I have not flown on EK in 2017, my account was targeted with an offer to earn up to 5,000 bonus Starpoints after completing three eligible stays.
Start planning your travels next year because Hilton Honors has just announced the Points Unlimited offer for all eligible nights consumed between 01 January 2018 and 30 April 2018.
