AccorHotels Group has finalised the acquisition of FRHI Hotels & Resorts which includes the three prestigious and established luxury hotel brands: Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel. The addition of these properties and room inventories makes AccorHotels the largest operator of hotels in Singapore, with a grand total of 5400 rooms.
Some notable properties that are joining AccorHotels’ global network include some of the world’s most iconic and historic hotels located in key strategic cities around the world: The Savoy in London, Raffles Singapore, Fairmont San Francisco, New York’s The Plaza, Fairmont Le Château Frontenac in Quebec City, and Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris.
After much speculation in the market, AccorHotels has just announced the the signature of an agreement with Mantra Group Limited with the view to acquire all of the issued capital in Mantra by way of a scheme of arrangement to be approved by Mantra shareholders. Under the terms of the agreement AccorHotels would offer AUD3.96 in cash for each Mantra share including any potential special dividend.

AccorHotels has just unveiled her very first property in Mongolia - the 95-room ibis Styles Ulaanbaatar Polaris which is located in the Khan Uu District. The property is a short 15-minute drive from the Chinggis Khaan International Airport and it features a sleek interior design with bright colours of orange and turquoise echoed by a wall of playful graffiti artwork.
AccorHotels has just announced the opening of the Mercure Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 which is located on Soi 11 of Sukhumvit. Known for the numerous restaurants, bar and clubs which are prominent in the evenings, Sukhumvit Soi 11 has long been a magnet for tourists, expats and locals who are attracted to the night life. The property is also within walking distance to not only the BTS Skytrain Nana Station and MRT Subway Asoke Station but also the Airport Link Makkasan Station.
One of the most highly-anticipated hotels to open in Singapore this year is the Sofitel Singapore City Centre. The flagship Sofitel property will officially be opening her doors on 02 October 2017 (even though there are paying guests staying in-house already) and alongside this opening will be the introduction of a brand new restaurant, Racines, which is helmed by the award-winning Executive Chef Jean-Charles Dubois.

The announcement to open this flagship Sofitel hotel in Singapore's tallest building last year has created quite a bit of excitement within the industry and it is one of the most highly-anticipated hotels that are opening in Singapore this year.
AccorHotels has just unveiled Kuala Lumpur's very first Sofitel-branded property in Damansara - the Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara. Located in the affluent neighbourhood of Damansara Heights, the 312-room property is part of an 8.5-acre integrated development by GuocoLand which comprises of two condominum blocks, office towers and a lifestyle mall.
The Seoul Dragon City is South Korea's first lifestyle hotel-plex that will feature four distinct AccorHotels brands (a grand total of 1,700 rooms and suites), 11 restaurants and bars, 17 meeting rooms, two multi-function grand ballrooms and four floors of entertainment in a Sky Bridge that is suspended between two of the towers.
Sofitel Foshan by AccorHotels has just opened in the city of Guangdong in China. The 5-star luxury property is located in China Leading Furniture City – Lecong in Shunde and it offers a direct connection to the 200,000 square-metre Louvre International Exhibition Centre, a destination hub for design aficionados. Sofitel Foshan is the brand’s first property to debut in Foshan and the 23rd property in the Greater China network.
The Mercure Singapore Bugis is one of Singapore's latest properties by AccorHotels and it is located along Middle Road in Bugis. Positioned as a higher-end four-star property, the Mercure Singapore Bugis offers 395 heritage-inspired rooms (including loft-style rooms!), two restaurants and two bars within the property. AccorHotels has many properties in Singapore and they range from luxury (like the Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa) to mid-range business hotels like the Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay to more affordable properties like ibis which I have personally not checked out.
