In conjunction with turning five years old, the Award-winning Fat Cow in Singapore is featuring a one-night only 5-Course Sake Dinner that is titled “A Sake Journey from Miyagi to Tochigi Prefecture”. Apart from seeing Head Chef Fukashi Adachi in action, the Founder of Oval One and an SSI-certified Master Sáke and Shochu Adviser, Mr Hayato Hishinuma will be gracing the event to share his knowledge of the featured sake during the night.
Diners can look forward to an Ishigarei no Kobujime Sashimi (kelp cured flounder sashimi) paired with Sotenden Junmai Daiginjo sake to start. Followed by Carabinero no Uni Houbayaki (grilled Spanish jumbo prawn with ikura, kabocha puree atop a magnolia leaf) paired with Sasanokawa Junmai sake. The 3rd course is a Daikon no Wagyu Onsen Mushi (steamed daikon radish stuffed with minced wagyu, eggplant & maitake mushroom) dish paired with Sohomare Kimoto Junmai Daiginjo sake. For the highlight of the meal, guests can look forward to Fat Cow’s signature Sumibiyaki Haccho Miso Marinated Australian Wagyu Steak paired with 2 sake; Soutenden Tokubetsu Junmai and Sasanokawa ‘All Yamada-Nishiki’ Ginjo. To round off the meal, Chef Fukashi has created a Sake Kasu Kuri Tiramisu (sake lees & chestnut tiramisu) which promises to end off your dinner on a sweet note.

Following the premature ending of 10X OCBC$ for mobile payments made using the OCBC Titanium Rewards card, OCBC has just announced that they will be removing the option for OCBC VOYAGE Cardholders to purchase 500,000 VOYAGE miles for S$10,000. Hoshino Resorts will be unveiling a brand new KAI property in the Hakone district on 27 July 2018 and this will become the 15th property under the greater brand umbrella. So it appears that Singapore will be getting another Holiday Inn Express property at the beginning of next year - I only realised this when I was trying to book the InterContinental Singapore (again!) for a future stay.
