I have always been an advocate for Chope since it allows you to not only make reservations on-the-go but also rack up plenty of Chope-Dollars which you can then use for dining vouchers or even KrisFlyer miles. There are no fees involved in using Chope so there is really zero reason for you not to - especially the last thing you want to experience is being turned away at a restaurant that you have already travelled down for.
A couple of days ago, a number of users have had their Chope-Dollars balance adjusted and Chope sent out an email a couple of days later to notify everyone about the changes (even though who were not affected like me). In that very same email, they mentioned that a brand new Loyalty Programme will be launching soon:
The good news is that we will soon be launching a new Loyalty Programme which will include a wide range of new perks including a faster way to earn Chope-Dollars.
A couple of years ago, Chope launched the ChopeVIP programme for their top-tier members and I was invited to join it (not because of this website but because I actually use it so much that I am actually one of their top members in reality) - that seriously accelerated the rate in which I accrued Chope-Dollars and it has helped pay for (or subsidise) plenty of meals that I have taken throughout the years. I am personally quite interested to see what Chope is launching and since they were reconciling Chope-Dollars for all members, I dare say that the qualification of 'elite tier' in the new programme would either require a certain Chope-Dollar balance or the fulfillment of a fixed number of reservations each year.

There has been a number of exciting changes for Regent Singapore this year - the management agreement with Four Seasons was not extended for 2019 (the official last day was 31 December 2018) and the Potiac Land Group (who owns the property) has appointed Capella Hotel Group to manage the hotel this year. What is even more interesting however is that IHG Rewards Club members will soon be able to earn and redeem IHG Rewards Club points at Regent properties (yes, this includes the Regent Singapore) from 01 February 2019.

While searching for hotels yesterday, I noticed that the Regent Singapore (where I have stayed back in 2014) is already integrated into the IHG app - you can now book it via the platform but at the time of writing, reward nights are not yet available.
Located just 60-minutes away, The Canopi in Bintan can easily be accessed via ferry from Singapore - this destination is also a popular glamping spot for families and thrill-seekers on weekends especially. While trying to book hotels this morning, I realised that The Canopi will soon be joining Tribute Portfolio which is a brand under Marriott International and Marriott Bonvoy members will soon be able to earn points and eligible nights at this property from February 2019.
