Citi Rewards Visa Card

To put it simple, the Citi Rewards Visa Card gives you 10X Rewards (essentially 4 miles) for every eligible dollar that you put online - this means that things like your shopping as well as GrabPay top-ups will earn you 4 miles per dollar. Additionally, you will also earn 10X Rewards on retail shopping worldwide (regardless of currency!). 10X Rewards is capped at 10,000 points per statement month (essentially up to a max of S$1,000 each month) so you can easily earn 48,000 miles from just S$12,000 spend on this card each year!

Citi PremierMiles Visa Card

The Citi PremierMiles Visa Card is one of the best cards to hold if you are new to the workforce - it gives you two complimentary airport lounge visits each year via the Priority Pass program (that means you will get to enjoy a selection of complimentary food and beverages at the airport before your flight). Additionally, it comes with a decent base earn rate for things that do not qualify for bonus miles (i.e. charges that you cannot put on the Citi Rewards Visa Card above to earn 4 miles per dollar on). The Citi PremierMiles Visa Card gives you 1.2 and 2.0 Citi Miles per eligible S$1 that you charge in SGD and non-SGD respectively - the Citi Miles accrued on this credit card will not expire as well (read: more time to accrue those miles for your dream flight). The card does come with an annual fee of S$192.60 each year but paying that will give you 10,000 Citi Miles as a renewal bonus - great way to build bank!

Citi Prestige Card

Finally, if your annual income is currently above S$120,000 and you do enjoy the finer things in life (e.g. getting your 4th night at any hotel free), the Citi Prestige Card might be something you may wish to consider. The base earn rate for this card is slightly higher than the Citi PremierMiles Visa Card at 1.3/2.0 miles for eligible SGD and non-SGD transactions but that is really not what you should be basing your decision on. The Citi Prestige Card gives you a complimentary night stay when you book a minimum consecutive four-night stay at any hotel or resort around the world - the 4th night rate will be offered as a statement credit back into your card. Additionally, eligible cardholders of the Citi Prestige Card will also get to enjoy unlimited access to hundreds of airport lounges around the world (under the Priority Pass network) whenever they travel. You will also be able to enjoy up to 8 complimentary one-way airport limousine transfers with this card upon meeting the minimum spend requirement.

The Citi Prestige Card does come with an annual fee of $535 each year but you will get 25,000 miles for simply paying that fee. If you are new to Citibank cards, getting S$250 cash will help bring that annual fee down to just S$285 each year and that essentially brings your cost per mile down to 1.14 cents (which is incredible!).
