Marriott Bonvoy Extends F&B Discount of Up to 30% in Asia-Pacific Through 31 January 2021 for Elite Members

Marriott Bonvoy increased the level of F&B discount (across all participating restaurants and bars in Asia-Pacific) from 20% to 30% back in July 2020 and while this tactical promotion was supposed to end on 31 December 2020, it has been quietly extended through 31 January 2021 at the time of writing.

While there is no change to the level of discount (10%) for base-tier and Silver Elite members, Gold Elite and higher-tier members can enjoy a greater discount rate through 31 January 2021:

  • Members and Silver Elite: 10% Savings

  • Gold Elite: 20% Savings (from 15%)

  • Platinum Elite, Titanium Elite, and Ambassador Elite: 30% Savings (from 20%)

As a quick reminder, the F&B discount (which also applies to alcoholic beverages) is applicable so long the qualifying dining bill is over USD 10. Amid a broad weakness of the USD, it is also a rather lucrative time to dine across participating dining venues to make full use of the currency conversion and the relatively-strong SGD (you will earn more points!). Some credit cards in Singapore may offer dining discounts (even though they usually exclude beverages) as well so it is important to pick the right promotion in situations like that.

For example, if you have The Platinum Card or even the Platinum Credit Card from American Express, you will be able to save up to 50% off the total dining bill when dining with one other adult. However, the dining discount drops when you are dining in say a party of four. While a 30% discount might seem unattractive at first glance, it is actually quite significant (and a lot more worthwhile) if you are planning to order drinks - you will also earn Marriott Bonvoy points while you are at it!
