Buy World of Hyatt Points at 25% Discount (1.8 Cents Each) - Great Value for Redemption Across Low- and High-Category Properties

From now until 2 June 2023 (or 11:59 AM on 3 June 2023 in Singapore), purchase at least 5,000 World of Hyatt points in a single transaction to receive a 25% discount - this works out to just 1.8 US cents per point and even though this is not the cheapest that we have seen in recent years, it is still cheaper than the previous sale which has just ended. World of Hyatt points are fantastic for many different reasons - Globalists have the ability to make a Guest of Honor booking for their friends and family members (where they can enjoy Globalist benefits like lounge access and space-available suite upgrades), and it is actually cheaper to book some stays on points than paying the full cash rate.

As a quick reminder, Members can purchase up to 55,000 points per calendar year, and under the current 25% discount, each point works out to a price of 1.8 US cents. Now you might already know this but the number of required points per night depends on the category of the property, as well as whether the date has been determined as the peak period:

For a Category 1 property like the Alila Bangsar in Kuala Lumpur, a free night on points will require either 3,500 points (off-peak), 5,000 points (standard), or 6,500 points (peak). This means that you can stay at the property for as little as USD 63 per night if you were to purchase World of Hyatt Points at 1.8 US cents each right now. Points are typically best used as aspirational (and expensive) properties like the Park Hyatt Kyoto (Category 8) where you can pay only USD 630 per night (which is the cost of purchasing 35,000 points right now) as compared to ¥247,410 (USD 1,840).

The award category chart was updated late last month and some properties now require fewer points to stay - this may be an opportunity for you to save on future stays so be sure to check that out.
