Changes to UOB PRVI Miles Platinum Card (AMEX)
I have previously reviewed the UOB PRVI Miles Platinum Card (AMEX) and have found it to be a great credit card, especially if you utilise the unlimited free limousine transfer to the airport service. With effect from 03 January 2015, this limousine benefit will be crippled (albeit not removed) as charging S$500 worth of travel expenses in one transaction will no longer award you with a free limousine transfer.
Instead, you will have to charge a minimum overseas spend of S$1,000 to your UOB PRVI Miles Platinum Card (AMEX) within each qualifying quarter to receive a S$45 rebate for the one-way limousine. While the card earns 2.5 Miles per S$1 in foreign currency, the international exchange rate is usually terrible. That being said, this card is still a great credit card to chalk up miles for every thing that does not qualify for bonus (4 miles per S$1) spending.
There have also been rumours about a UOB PRVI Miles World MasterCard (as opposed to the current AMEX version). It will be interesting to see what UOB comes up with the alleged new card.
