I wrote last month about the new rewards portal on Citibank Singapore and the opportunity to exchange your Citibank ThankYou® Points for hotel stays and flights. From now until 17 January 2016, receive 4 Hilton Honors Points per S$1 spend in foreign currency when you use your Citibank Premiermiles Credit Card. Since you get 2 Citi Premiermiles per S$1 spend in foreign currency and 2 HHonors Points with each Citi Premiermile, you will receive 4 HHonors Points per S$1 spent in foreign currency.

So where exactly is that 6 HHonors per S$1 that I have written about in the title? Well, if you use the amazing Citibank Rewards Card (which I sincerely believe should be in everyone's wallet if you do shop around in SIngapore), the enhanced transfer rate will translate 10 Citibank ThankYou® Points to 6 HHonors Points for the same redemption period (up until 17 January 2016).

While some people may argue that Hilton Honors Points are pretty worthless, it can still be a worthwhile redemption if you already have plans for it (and especially so if you have status!). For example, assuming you have at least Gold Status on the Hilton Honors program, you will require only 40,000 HHonors Points for a 5 night stay in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Johor Bahru with complimentary breakfast. You will have to spend approximately S$6,667 on your Citibank Rewards Card at an eligible 10X merchant to earn 40,000 HHonors Points for a stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Johor Bahru that will cost you around S$720 to S$930 - approx. 10-14% cash back in terms of redemption which isn't a bad deal at all.
