In case you have not already heard, the award-winning Hua Ting Restaurant at the Orchard Hotel Singapore has officially opened its much anticipated Steamboat restaurant on the mezzanine floor of Claymore Connect (right across the road from Orchard Towers and the Pan Pacific Orchard). The former Orchard Hotel Shopping Arcade now houses Hua Ting Steamboat which features over 150 dishes and 8 soup bases at affordable prices.
Hua Ting Steamboats competes with the existing hotpot dining scene with premium ingredients and flavourful soup bases that are carefully prepared fresh on a daily basis. If you can't decide between the soup bases, opt for the yuan yang version which gives you a choice of two. Some of the highly recommended flavours are Tomato Soup with Century Egg & Coriander, Shark’s Bone Cartilage Soup with Fresh Bean Curd Sheets and Sea Treasure Flambé.
The newly-appointed Hotpot Chef Desmond Wooi will lead the kitchen in rediscovering familiar flavours with a local spin. With more than 10 years of culinary experience under his belt, Chef Desmond prides himself in bringing a quality steamboat experience to the diners. For all of you lucky people who work in the vicinity, the lunch set menu is priced at just S$26++ per person and it is done in a "Gan Guo" (casserole) style where diners can tuck into delicious creations like Spicy Chicken, Kurobuta Pork Belly and Sea Perch.
Dinner set menus are priced from just S$48++ per person where diners can select his or her choice of tasty soup bases as well as a choice of succulent meats, fresh seafood, handmade meatballs and assorted greens. Hua Ting Steamboat also boasts two private dining rooms on top of its seating capacity for 60 persons.
