48 Hours in Singapore
Planning a visit to Singapore? We don’t blame you. Singapore is on the hot list of all of those who are “in the know” right now. From an amazing cultural tapestry and delicious food to incredible architecture and invigorating nightlife, Singapore has it all and should be added to your “travel bucket list.”
Whether you are heading to Singapore for fun or for pleasure, you will need somewhere to stay. There are over 500 different hotels available, so there are plenty to choose from depending on your tastes, budget and of course, where you wish to be located. If you are looking for a luxury hotel, why not stay at the luxurious Moshe Safdie-designed mega property fronting the Marina Bay? This property has an infinity pool on the 57th floor and a sprawling Banyan Tree Spa on the 55th floor. Here you won’t be spoilt for choice for where to eat as there are over 80 restaurants located within the complex including 10 celebrity chef restaurants ranging from Waku Ghin by Tetsuya Wakuda to CUT by Wolfgang Puck to Bread Street Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay.
If you love to shop, a visit to Singapore could also be ideal as it packs in more malls per square mile than any other country in the world, and is widely considered to be one of the best shopping destinations. Why not check out the likes of Chinatown and Little India as well as the vast Bugis Street Market, which is a fun and friendly shopping experience not to be missed, too. The Geylang Serai New Market is a must-see for foodie lovers where you can enjoy an array of Malay and Indian produce and delicacies. Don’t forget to try the Malay Biryani.
Gardens by the Bay is a network of modern greenhouses and waterfront parks containing super trees lined with solar cells and is certainly worth paying a visit as is Sentosa, which is an island resort situated off Singapore’s southern coast. You can access this garden via road, boardwalk, monorail and even by cable car.
You will certainly need to spend an evening out checking out the many amazing restaurants, bars and clubs in Singapore. Chef André Chiang’s Restaurant André has retained the title of “The Best Restaurant in Singapore”; however, it is closely followed by Odette at the National Gallery, which was voted the 9th best restaurant in “Asia’s top 50 restaurants 2017.” As you can see, a visit to Singapore is certainly a “no-brainer” for any foodie.
There are also lots of bars and clubs where you can enjoy a great night out in Singapore as there has been an increasing popularity of Singapore’s nightclubs (some of which are internationally renowned), as well as some spectacular rooftop bars that keep popping up around the city.
Why not try heading to the only casino in Singapore — the Resorts World Sentosa. Be sure to dress to impress, whether this is a stunning cocktail dress or a smart suit. You don’t have to go all out, just make sure that you adhere to the dress code of the casino.
