First Flight to Depart from Changi Airport's Terminal 4 on 31 October 2017 - Including List of Airlines
The brand new Terminal 4 of Changi Airport will officially commence operations on 31 October 2017 (Tuesday) and the first arrival and departing flights here will be operated by Cathay Pacific to and from Hong Kong (CX650 and CX659 respectively). Changi Airport Group (CAG) has begun collaborating with airport partners since October 2016 to ensure smooth operation in Singapore's latest airport terminal.
Volunteers from the airport community as well as members of the public were also invited down to Terminal 4 to role-play as passengers in order to test out the critical airport systems as well as processes such as the Fast and Seamless Travel (FAST) self-service options at check-in, bag drop, immigration and boarding, as well as security screening, baggage handling, flight information, ground transport, way-finding, and transfer processes.
CAG has also conducted trials with selected commercial flights with airline partners at Terminal 4 in recent weeks. T4 will add a capacity of 16 million passengers per annum to Changi Airport, bringing the airport’s total annual handling capacity to 82 million passenger movements.
The following nine airlines will operate from the new Terminal 4 of the Changi Airport:
- AirAsia Group (comprising of four airlines)
- Cathay Pacific Airways
- Cebu Pacific Air
- Korean Air
- Spring Airlines
- Vietnam Airlines
Business Class passengers now enjoy complimentary inflight Wi-Fi when traveling on Cathay Pacific.
