New KrisFlyer Elite Gold Rewards - Guaranteed Upgrades and Double Miles Rewards

Slightly over a year ago, Singapore Airlines introduced a series of PPS Rewards for their PPS Members (find out what the difference between KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS here) and these rewards are basically incentives (think of them as milestone bonuses) for reaching certain levels of spend - double KrisFlyer miles, redemption discounts, as well as one-class cabin upgrades. While these benefits have been exclusive to top-tier members, a brand new selection of KrisFlyer Elite Gold Rewards will become available to KrisFlyer Elite Gold members from 09 October 2018.

Under this new rewards program, Elite Miles are accumulated and calculated based on your travels on Singapore Airlines and SilkAir - these flights may be eligible to earn you Elite Gold Rewards. Elite Gold Rewards can be earned at 60,000, 75,000 and 100,000 Elite Miles levels - these levels are calculated based on your membership year.

While the benefits are not exactly lucrative enough for anyone to change their flying pattern or carrier preferences, it is always a good thing when an airline chooses to provide more benefits in their loyalty program. In case you are wondering how much flying do you have to do to hit 60,000 Elite Miles on Singapore Airlines and SilkAir, a one-way flight from Singapore to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is approximately 9,530 Miles.
