Hotel Review: Four Seasons Hotel Singapore (One Bedroom Suite) - Luxurious Pet-friendly Property in Orchard
There are a handful of pet-friendly hotels in Singapore but only a couple of them have been approved by the STB and MTI for staycations - the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore ranks amongst the best luxury hotels in Singapore and guests can also bring their beloved fur kid along with them on their stays. All the rooms and suites in the hotel have been renovated a few years ago so they look fantastic with a colour palette that has been influenced by the nearby UNESCO World Heritage Site, Singapore Botanic Gardens.

I have stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore on two separate occasions since its renovations - once in the massive Ambassador One-bedroom Suite and once in a lead-in suite category, the Four Seasons Executive Suite. My stay this time was in a One Bedroom Suite (one category above the Four Seasons Executive Suite) and it features 91sqm of space with plenty of room to hang out or entertain. As mentioned in previous reviews of this hotel, the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore is part of the American Express' Fine Hotels & Resorts program where Centurion and Platinum members can enjoy exclusive perks like USD 100 F&B credit and a guaranteed 4:00PM late check-out when booking an eligible rate.
Located right next to the entrance of the One Bedroom Suite is a powder room which is actually a full bathroom which comes with a separate shower area (so there are two bathrooms in the suite altogether). This is especially great if you have kids since there will be no bottleneck in the morning or at bedtime. If you are planning to have guests over during your stay, the powder room is also great as your guests will not have to walk through your bedroom to get to the bathroom during their visit.
There is plenty of space here in the living room and since I brought my dog along with me on this stay, the hotel has actually arranged some pet amenities (more on this later) to be placed in the room. Do note that the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore can only accommodate pets which weigh 15 pounds (approximately 6.8kg) or less and a one-time charge of S$100 nett will be levied for specialised housekeeping procedures required for the room after the guests' check-out (regardless of stay duration).
For the sake of clarification, pets will not be allowed in F&B outlets, Health Club or the Pool areas and all guests will have to accompany their pets if housekeeping is servicing the room. In any case, I always find it tough to leave my pet in the room alone since it is such a foreign space for her (especially if you are just staying for one night). I really do like the living room of the One Bedroom Suite a lot - the sofa sits at least four adults comfortably and there is plenty of room to just lounge about even if you are here on your own. My fur kid spent most of her time here on the sofa where she looked really happy and comfortable the whole time.
There is a small dining table here in the living room which is perfect if you are planning on ordering in-room dining but you may also request for it to be set-up anywhere else in the suite - I personally recommend having it by the window so you can enjoy the natural light and the amazing view of Orchard Road and beyond.
The team has also graciously arranged for a number of treats to be placed in the room upon my arrival - the pineapple tarts from Jiang Nan Chun is always something to look forward to. There was also a handwritten note which was addressed to me and that is always a personal touch which is much-appreciated.
The One Bedroom Suite here at the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore comes with a massive 65-inch LED TV in the living room (there is also a smaller one located in the bedroom). Internet is complimentary for all hotel guests so you can stay connected to your loved ones (or work) when you are staying at the hotel. Located towards one end of the living room is where you will find the minibar and other amenities.
The Four Seasons Hotel Singapore used to provide TWG-branded teabags in the rooms and suites but these have now been replaced with Monogram-branded ones which I personally prefer. If you are looking for a quick caffeine boost, there is also a Lavazza coffee machine located at the minibar area and coffee capsules can be found in one of the drawers underneath it.
With the current travel restrictions in-place globally, Orchard Road has gotten a little quieter than before (even though the malls are still really busy on weekends) so it is actually not a bad time to go check out some of the places you have not been before now. On a clear day, you should be able to see quite a bit (depending on where your room is facing) looking out to one of the world’s most famous shopping strip from a distance is always a treat for me personally.
The bedroom of the One Bedroom Suite is located right next to the living room and it can be partitioned off completely by closing the door - there are also wooden blinds which can be manually adjusted depending on your desired level of privacy. If you are here with kids, having this is great since you can keep an eye on your children even if you are inside the bedroom. As far as I know, all of the One Bedroom Suites here at the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore come with an connecting-room option (at an additional charge) so if you would prefer your kids to have a separate bedroom (but share the living area) altogether, that is obviously possible here as well.
The One Bedroom Suite comes with a massive king-size bed and it goes without saying that the bedding is excellent - bedtime is always something I look forward to when staying at a Four Seasons Hotel. As always, you can opt for a plush, signature or firm mattress topper if you require it - there is also a pillow menu (make sure you download the Four Seasons mobile app for convenience) where you will be able to select from a range of pillow types.
Guests who bring their pets to stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore will get a personalised pet towel for their fur kid to take home as well. A special pet bed, pet bowl and drinking water was also provided by the hotel for convenience but I actually brought my dog’s own bed along on this stay as she gets a little picky sometimes (always good to have a backup plan!).
In line with new normals, the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore also provides thoughtful amenities like hand sanitisers, face masks and alcohol wipes in a reusable bag for in-house guests. This is particularly useful when you are heading out since you can just take them along with you - it never hurts having a back-up face mask for emergencies and it is always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to personal hygiene (especially in times like these).
To further provide in-house guests with a peace of mind, the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore has also placed air purifiers in guest rooms for additional protection and as a layer of extra precaution.
The bedroom of the One Bedroom Suite is really spacious and there is even a small dressing area located towards the back of the room where you will find the wardrobe as well as the safe if you need it. There is also a small dresser located by the side of the bed where you will find the hairdryer and a mirror for you to get ready before heading out - for the pet owners, this is also where you will end up drying your pet if you shower him or her during the stay.
Personally, I think one of the best parts of the stay is being able to spend time with the ones you love - if you do not have the luxury of having a bathtub at home, your fur kid will definitely enjoy the experience.
There is just so much joy in being able to share the best moments with the ones you love and obviously, being able to share that with your pet, while enjoying the Four Seasons experience is just priceless.
Apart from the powder room located in the living room of the One Bedroom Suite, there is a full marble bathroom which is attached to the bedroom - this is where you will find a large bathtub, a separate shower area and a second toilet located towards the end of this space. Double vanity sinks can also be found here and plenty of amenities are provided for your enjoyment during the stay.
Bath amenities in the One Bedroom Suite are provided by provided by decently-sized L'Occitane amenities and they smell great - it is one of my personal favourite brands of hotel bath amenities. The higher-tier suites (the One-Bedroom Ambassador Suite for instance) in the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore provide Eau de Cologne Impériale range of products from Guerlain instead.
Guests staying at the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore with a breakfast-inclusive rate (like the FHR Rate) can enjoy a complete (a la carte) buffet breakfast experience at One-Ninety Restaurant or opt for in-room dining. Since I had my puppy with me and I did not want to leave her alone in the bedroom, I opted for in-room dining and went for the Chinese and American Breakfast Sets. The Chinese Breakfast Set came with three dumplings in a bamboo steamer, congee and a plate of fried noodles with some condiments on the side.
Those opting for something a little more Western can go for the American Breakfast which comes with eggs done the way you like. As I did not see hashbrown on the menu (and was actually craving some that very morning), I asked if it could be added on the side and the team gladly provided some (potato rosti) on the side. On my previous stay here, I remember mentioning that I was craving for some carrot cake (the hawker kind and not those found in fancy cafes) in the morning and the chef actually prepared some for me.
While the in-room dining experience is in no way a substitute for the full a la carte buffet experience, it is still a great way to start the morning if you do not wish to get out of the room. However, if you did not bring your fur kind along with you on the stay, be sure to go down for the full experience instead (since there is a lot more to choose from and you can make a nice dining occasion out of it).
During my stay, the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore does not have a pet-friendly in-room dining menu (with that being said, I am sure that the team will be more than happy to provide freshly-cooked food to your specifications if requested) to order from so make sure you bring some food for your fur kid.
As mentioned earlier, there are only a handful of pet-friendly hotels in Singapore and even though none of the rooms and suites here at the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore come with a private plunge pool for your pet, being able to spend time together in this beautiful property makes a big difference. The hotel is also home to the Michelin-starred restaurant, Jiang Nan Chun so you can be sure of a quality meal even when you are enjoying a staycation. If you do enjoy local dishes, the One-Ninety Restaurant actually has a number of great dishes like the laksa and seafood hor fun which are both amongst my favourites.
As a quick reminder, the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore is part of the Virtuoso network, and booking a Virtuoso Rate (essentially the Best Available Rate) will give you exclusive amenities like property credits (typically USD 100), room upgrades, and complimentary breakfast. These perks can only be accessed when you book with a Virtuoso advisor and The Shutterwhale partners with ClassicTravel.com to bring these perks to you at no additional charge.

Swissôtel The Stamford offers stunning views of Marina Bay and a prime City Hall location, making it an excellent choice for international visitors. While the L65 Lounge serves substantial evening food, the limited alcohol selection might not suit all guests, but the hotel is still a great option for those wanting to experience Singapore’s iconic sights.
