Earn up to 18 Miles per Dollar on Dining with Kris+ Gastronomy Series (5 May to 30 June 2023)
Kris+ members will be able to earn 12 miles per dollar on dining spend across participating restaurants from 05 May 2023 to 30 June 2023 as part of the Kris+ Gastronomy Series this year. There are 14 participating restaurants in 2023, and you may earn up to 6 miles per dollar (on top of 12 miles per dollar) if you use the right credit card(s) to pay via the platform.
Where Can I Earn 12 Miles per Dollar (Kris+ Gastronomy Series 2023)
As part of the Gastronomy Series, Kris+ partners up with a number of restaurants each year to offer a specially-curated menu (usually a prix fixe menu) which may come with additional perks for Kris+ members (e.g. a glass of wine). There are 14 participating restaurants this year and while you may choose to enjoy the prix fixe menu, you will also earn a flat 12 miles per dollar on items from the a la carte menu if that is something you prefer.
There is no limit to the number of miles you can earn from this promotion but you must remember to transfer the miles that you earn from Kris+ to your KrisFlyer account within seven days from the date of the transaction - just do it immediately after paying to avoid having your miles being stuck in your Kris+ account as they are worth more as KrisFlyer miles.
As a general rule of thumb, you will not be able to stack your credit card benefits with Kris+ - for example, Mikuni is a Love Dining partner with American Express and even if you were to link a Platinum Card with Apple Pay, you will not be able to enjoy up to 50% off your total food bill. Similarly, even though there is an ongoing Amex offer for Hyatt that awards registered cardholders with S$60 statement credit after spending S$300 across participating Hyatt properties and restaurants, you will not be able to trigger that statement credit at 5 on 25 if you use the card for payment via Kris+. In these situations, you will have to weigh the opportunity costs before making an informed decision to make the best out of your spending.
Which Credit Card to Use on Kris+
There are only two credit cards in Singapore that offer 6 miles per dollar for eligible dining expenses made through Kris+ and unfortunately, they are restricted to female cardholders only - the UOB Lady's Solitaire and UOB Lady's Card offer 6 miles per dollar on eligible dining spend if a cardholder elects Dining as a preferred reward category (by doing so, the cardmember will earn 15X UNI$ which is equivalent to 30 miles, for every S$5 that they spend in the preferred category). For everyone else who are not eligible for the aforementioned credit cards, you may consider the DBS Woman's World Mastercard (which men can actually apply for), HSBC Revolution Credit Card, and the UOB Preferred Platinum Visa Card to earn 4 miles per dollar on these dining expenses via Kris+.
There are plenty of credit card sign-up offers available in Singapore so if you are a new-to-card customer, you should definitely check out the latest offers to take full advantage of these promotions. At the time of writing, there is also a flash sale that is running from 27 April 2023 to 01 May 2023 where new-to-card customers can receive an additional Dyson Airwrap™ Styler (worth S$799) on top of the existing sign-up gifts.
Additional S$25 Rebate with Mastercard
To sweeten the deal, Kris+ members can also receive an additional S$25 rebate (in the form of 3,750 miles which are not transferrable to KrisFlyer) if they spend at least S$100 with Mastercard (like the DBS Woman's World Mastercard) through Kris+ in a single transaction at any Gastronomy Series dining partner from 5 May 2023 to 30 June 2023.
Earn More Miles with Kris+
The way we earn and spend miles has changed quite drastically over the last couple of years and while devaluations do happen from time to time, one can argue that it has also gotten easier to earn miles through various methods. If you do not have a Kris+ account yer, signing up for one using my referral code 'C146047' will get you 750 bonus KrisPay miles (worth S$5) after your first eligible transaction. Kris+ is a great way to supplement your credit card strategy as it allows you to earn up to 18 miles per dollar through these partnerships and that is something that you cannot achieve through credit card spending alone.
Planning a beach day can seem simple, but unexpected issues often arise. Mornington Peninsula’s beaches are popular, which means dealing with potential crowds, fluctuating weather, and poor preparation can easily ruin your outing. Arriving late might lead to parking challenges, and picking the wrong beach can limit your planned activities. Many forget important items that could make or break their beach experience, leading to stress and missed opportunities for relaxation.
