The American Express Platinum Card Singapore 2026 Refresh: New Benefits Introduced

Just as we are winding down the year, American Express has dropped a massive update regarding the future of The Platinum Card in Singapore. In a campaign titled Just #betweenus, American Express has unveiled a significant restructuring of the card’s benefits which will take effect from 1 January 2026. The changes signal a clear strategic pivot: a move away from the coupon book style of fragmented statement credits and a return to curated, experiential luxury.

While we are saying goodbye to several familiar credits, the headline feature - a bi-monthly complimentary dining benefit - could be a potential gamechanger for foodies. Before we get to the new benefit introductions, we must address what is being removed. American Express has confirmed that the following credits will conclude on 31 December 2025:

  • Local Dining Credit: (Previously S$200/year)

  • Entertainment Credit: (Previously S$204/year)

  • Fashion Credit: (Previously S$150/year)

  • Lifestyle Credit: (Previously S$400/year) - this will be replaced by the new Platinum Wine Credit which will be addressed below.

This represents a removal of roughly S$554 in statement credit value. For Card Members who optimised every single dollar of these credits, this initially stings. However, the replacement benefits arguably offer a higher ceiling of value for those who enjoy fine dining and wine.

Table for Two by Platinum - Six Times a Year

The newest benefit of The Platinum Card and the star of the 2026 refresh has got to be the Table for Two by Platinum. This benefit replaces the monetary Local Dining Credit and starting from 2026, Platinum Card Members will enjoy a complimentary dining experience for two people, once every two months - this means you can redeem this benefit up to six times a year.

The experiences are curated into three distinct categories:

  • Chic Restaurants

  • Buffets

  • Cafes

Inaugural season highlights include heavy hitters like HighHouse, VUE, and Colony at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore. Information surrounding this complimentary experience is currently limited but if this extends to a full dinner or lunch service, it could arguably provide great value to Card Members who appreciate it. This benefit will be trackable and bookable via the Amex Experiences App.

S$400 Platinum Wine Credit

Replacing the previous Lifestyle Credit is the new Platinum Wine Credit which remains largely the same - even though the fulfillment is likely going to be done by Vivino instead of Grand Cru. Platinum Card Members will continue to enjoy two S$200 statement credits each year (January to June and July to December) and a minimum of S$300 in a single transaction is required to trigger the statement credit.

Platinum Private Spaces

American Express is also teasing new exclusive environments. While we are already familiar with the access to Tower Club Singapore and The Platinum Store at Raffles City, 2026 will see the introduction of a wellness-inspired concept launching in the first quarter. Additionally, The Platinum Store at Raffles City will reopen on 12 January 2026 with previews of upcoming concepts.

What Stays the Same?

Amidst the changes, several core pillars of the Platinum value proposition remain intact or have been slightly tweaked for 2026:

  • S$200 Airline Credit: Remains as two S$100 credits (January to June and July to December) for spend with Singapore Airlines or Scoot - minimum spend of S$300 applies.

  • S$200 Global Dining Credit: This appears to be the continuation of the same Overseas Dining credit that we are already familiar with.

  • Love Dining: The up to 50% off dining benefit remains unchanged.

  • Complimentary Hotel Night Stay: You will still receive your annual one-night stay at properties like The St. Regis Singapore and participating Banyan Tree & Frasers Hospitality properties.

  • Global Lounge Collection: Unlimited access (for principal cardholder) to Priority Pass, Centurion Lounges, and other participating lounges continues.

The 2026 refresh shifts the American Express Platinum Card's narrative. By removing the small, fragmented credits (like the S$17/month Entertainment credit) and introducing a high-value, bi-monthly dining feature, Amex is doubling down on the Platinum experience. For the dining enthusiast who visits places like Colony or VUE regularly, the Table for Two benefit is a massive upgrade. Six complimentary meals for two in a year is a headline perk that very few, or none other cards in Singapore can match.
