Read MoreTaipei is slightly over four hours away from Singapore by plane and it offers some of the most delicious food and nicest people that I have ever met in my life. When I visited Taipei in April 2017, I caught flight BR226 from Singapore and I was seriously impressed by the Royal Laurel product on EVA Air - the seats on the 777-300ER were extremely spacious and personalisation of service is truly something to remember. I was also excited to check out the tallest hotel in Taipei city - the Shangri-La's Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Taipei which is famous for having the best view of Taipei 101 and the surrounding city.

When I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Taipei in 2015, I stayed in a Grand Deluxe Room with an impressive view of the iconic Taipei 101. The presence of international hotel chains in Taipei is rather limited - you will not find anything from Hilton, Accor or IHG in the city and because of that (and other reasons), room rates at internationally-branded hotel chains can be rather costly. Check out my stay in a Grand Suite of the Grand Hyatt Taipei!
Read MoreWhen I visited Taipei earlier this month, I checked out EVA Air's famous Royal Laurel class from Singapore to Taipei and absolutely loved it - I am glad I chose it over the Singapore Airlines' Regional Business class! During my week-long stay in Taipei, I stayed at the Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Taipei for three nights and took the opportunity to check out the highly-acclaimed Japanese restaurant within the hotel - ibuki by Takagi Kazuo.

Since I had an OCBC VOYAGE Card with me, I could bring a guest to enjoy unlimited access to all participating Plaza Premium Lounges around the world.
Read MoreI fell in love with the Grand Hyatt Taipei when I visited it back in 2015 (read my review of the hotel here!) and therefore, I decided to return to this beautiful property (especially after the refurbishments and renovations) this year in April 2017. During my stay, I checked out one of the restaurants that I have missed out on during my last visit - the Yun Jin Chinese Restaurant (located inside the Grand Hyatt Taipei) which serves up authentic Chinese and Taiwanese cuisine. Check out my review of Yun Jin in Taipei below!
