For decades, the Grand Hyatt Taipei stood alone as the primary option for World of Hyatt loyalists in Taiwan. That has finally changed with the arrival of EPISODE Daan Taipei. Part of the JdV by Hyatt collection, this boutique property brings a pulse of retro-modern energy to the Daan District.

Hotel Review: Shangri-La's Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Taipei (Horizon Club Premier Room)

Taipei is slightly over four hours away from Singapore by plane and it offers some of the most delicious food and nicest people that I have ever met in my life. When I visited Taipei in April 2017, I caught flight BR226 from Singapore and I was seriously impressed by the Royal Laurel product on EVA Air - the seats on the 777-300ER were extremely spacious and personalisation of service is truly something to remember. During my stay, I checked out one of the restaurants that I have missed out on during my last visit - the Yun Jin Chinese Restaurant (located inside the Grand Hyatt Taipei) which serves up authentic Chinese and Taiwanese cuisine. Check out my review of Yun Jin in Taipei below!

Between my two luxurious accommodations, I stayed in a budget friendly boutique hotel that is expanding all over Taiwan (even outside of Taipei!) - Just Sleep Linsen.
