Just a couple of days ago, Emirates announced that passengers will now be able to check-in 48 hours (up from 24 hours) prior to departure. Today, Emirates has announced the addition of a tenth daily flight to the capital of Britain, London, starting 01 October 2016. This new service will be in addition to the six daily service to Heathrow and the three daily flight to London Gatwick that Emirates already operate. The Dubai-London Gatwick service will be operated by a state-of-the-art Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in a three-class configuration, with eight Private Suites in First Class, 42 lie flat seats in Business Class and 310 spacious seats in Economy Class.

Online Check-in 48 Hours before Emirates Flight

Effective immediately, you will now be able to check-in to your next Emirates flight 48 hours (up from 24 hours) before departure via desktop or your mobile devices. Online check-in will close 90 minutes before flight departure but having that increased lead time means you will now have greater flexibility in choosing the seats you want (and more importantly, to beat that snaking queue at the airport)! Upon checking-in online and printing your boarding passes, passengers can proceed to drop their luggage at the online check-in counters (usually much shorter queues!) before heading down to immigration and security. If your Emirates flight does arrive and depart from the United States, boarding passes will only be issued 24 hours in advance (even though you can still check-in 48 hours prior to departure).

On my recent trip back to Singapore from Sydney, I managed to try out J Class (Business Class) on board the Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-300ER (Three Class). While the airlines have won multiple awards over the years for being one of the best airlines in the world, I have been told that the business cabins are truly a league above the rest. Together with James Park Associates, Singapore Airlines has introduced brand new Business Class seats on board their 777-300ERs with a more contemporary design and the use of metallic colours (for all Apple fans, think Rose Gold).
