Lounge Review: Emirates Lounge (2016) at Melbourne Tullamarine Airport

I checked out the previous Emirates Lounge at the Melbourne Tullamarine Airport back in 2014 when I visited the city for a friend's wedding. While the lounge had a great selection of food and drinks, the overall decor was tired and in need of a refresh. When I visited Melbourne city again this April (2016), I have had the pleasure of visiting the Emirates Lounge once again (without knowing it was refurbished) and I was pleasantly surprised by the changes.

Emirates and Malaysia Airlines - Enhanced Codeshare and Frequent Flyer Benefits

As part of the enhanced codeshare agreement, Emirates and Malaysia Airlines have unveiled new routes and frequent flyer benefits to provide flyers with better connections and world class travel experiences across the globe. The introduction of new routes will cover 15 Malaysian cities which include: Langkawi, Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuching, Miri, Bintulu, Sibu, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau, Labuan, Alor Setar, Kota Bharu, Kuantan and Kuala Terengganu. Under the agreement, Emirates’ flight number will be placed on Malaysia Airlines’ services on those destinations.

Emirates adds 10th Daily Service to London

Just a couple of days ago, Emirates announced that passengers will now be able to check-in 48 hours (up from 24 hours) prior to departure. Today, Emirates has announced the addition of a tenth daily flight to the capital of Britain, London, starting 01 October 2016. This new service will be in addition to the six daily service to Heathrow and the three daily flight to London Gatwick that Emirates already operate. The Dubai-London Gatwick service will be operated by a state-of-the-art Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in a three-class configuration, with eight Private Suites in First Class, 42 lie flat seats in Business Class and 310 spacious seats in Economy Class.
