Singapore Airlines Reverses Decision on Credit Card Surcharge after Online Criticisms

In a curious turn of events, it appears that Singapore Airlines will no longer be implementing that Credit Card Surcharge for flights departing Singapore after all. In less than 24 hours, the national airline of Singapore has decided not to charge the 1.30% credit card fee on Economy Lite tickets from 20 January 2018 following further review. Since its announcement, the decision to charge a service fee for the airline’s lowest priced tickets has come under heavy criticisms and while I personally find the fee insignificant (especially since you can avoid it with a debit card or simply paying PayPal), the airline has decided to take a step back with regards to this decision.

Singapore Airlines to Increase Frequency to Cape Town - Daily Service to be served by A350-900

To meet the growing travel demand, Singapore Airlines will be increasing the flight frequency from Singapore to Cape Town. Cape Town will be served with a daily flight from Singapore via Johannesburg from 26 March 2018 (up from the current four flights per week). The additional flights will complement the airline's current daily service to Johannesburg and it will be served by the Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

Qantas to Increase Frequency of Flights between Singapore and Australia; Jetstar to Decrease

There will be a number of network adjustments that the Qantas Group will be making to its services between Singapore and Australia - this affects both Qantas as well as Jetstar. The Singapore to Sydney route will be operated by an Airbus A380 (with the latest cabin products) from early March 2018 and an additional flight between Singapore and Perth will be added.
