For this flight from Kuala Lumpur to Tokyo (Narita), I chose Seat 1K only to realise that it differs slightly from the 777-200ER which I took previously - this flight is operated on a Beoing 787-9 Dreamliner. This was the second time (my first was from JFK to TPA) that I was flying on the airline in Domestic First Class so I was pretty clear on what to expect. I returned the car at the airport before making my way to the main building in Orlando International Airport (which is in no way as nice as Tampa International Airport) - getting through security took a while and there was no premium lane for passengers traveling in First Class (only Sky Priority check-in). One of the many perks of traveling in Business Class is the complimentary chauffeur-drive service that passengers can take advantage of - you will essentially be driven to and from the airport by one of the limousine partners that Emirates has in the city.

Read MoreAfter pigging out in the lounge (the laksa was as good as I remember it to be!), I went straight to the boarding gate for my Japan Airlines flight to Haneda. The flight was operated on a 15-year old 777-200ER plane that has been retrofitted with the latest Business Class product - the SKY SUITE III. Since this flight did not have a First Class cabin, top-tier members of the JAL Mileage program were the first to board - this includes top-tier elite passengers who are traveling in Economy Class (much like how PPS Club Solitaire passengers are invited to board before Business Class passengers even if they are traveling in cattle class).

More importantly, there are so many hotels to choose from (even though I always return to the same few properties in the end) and some of the most memorable ones include the legendary St. Regis Bali Resort as well as the Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort. Since my flight from Bali to Singapore was in Business Class, I went straight to the Business Class check-in counters and quickly found myself at the Premier Lounge of the airport not long after.
