When I visited Tokyo back in May, I travelled back to Singapore on Japan Airlines - I have been flying JAL rather frequently (this was my fourth Business Class flight) this year since it costs a lot less to redeem my miles on it than on Singapore Airlines. More importantly, I have found the food served in Business Class on day flights to be comparatively better than Singapore Airlines (if you are picking the Japanese meal). Trip Report - Japan Airlines Business Class SKY SUITE III JL724 - KUL to NRT (Kuala Lumpur to Narita)

For this flight from Kuala Lumpur to Tokyo (Narita), I chose Seat 1K only to realise that it differs slightly from the 777-200ER which I took previously - this flight is operated on a Beoing 787-9 Dreamliner. As I was traveling from Haneda Airport (HND) to Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) in Japan Airlines' Business Class, I had access to the Sakura Lounge that is operated by JAL. However, since I missed out on the opportunity to check out the new Cathay Pacific lounge in Singapore Changi Airport's Terminal 4 which has just only opened last year, I decided to forgo the Sakura Lounge and check out the Cathay Pacific Lounge at Haneda Airport (HND) instead.

Trip Report - Japan Airlines Business Class SKY SUITE III JL36 - SIN to HND (Singapore to Haneda)

After pigging out in the lounge (the laksa was as good as I remember it to be!), I went straight to the boarding gate for my Japan Airlines flight to Haneda. The flight was operated on a 15-year old 777-200ER plane that has been retrofitted with the latest Business Class product - the SKY SUITE III. Since this flight did not have a First Class cabin, top-tier members of the JAL Mileage program were the first to board - this includes top-tier elite passengers who are traveling in Economy Class (much like how PPS Club Solitaire passengers are invited to board before Business Class passengers even if they are traveling in cattle class).
