As the year comes to an end, it is important to remember that you will only earn Starpoints on Uber if you have had a qualifying stay in the calendar year. If like me, you use Uber on a daily basis, it is best to get your stay in as early as possible in January 2016. You should definitely take advantage of the SPG® Take Two promotion which gives you double Starpoints® when you stay two nights or more (plus 250 bonus Starpoints for every night you stay at hotels in popular destinations, worldwide from 11 January 2016 to 30 April 2016.

- Sheraton Towers Singapore

- The Westin Singapore
- W Singapore - Sentosa Cove
Considering how affordable the Sheraton Towers Singapore is on weekends, it may not be a bad idea for a mattress run to chalk up on points (especially if you need them!).
If you intend to travel between between Australia or New Zealand and London (via Singapore, Dubai or Perth) or Europe (via Dubai), Singapore or Dubai over the next year, it may be a good idea to book between now and 08 September 2017 to benefit from double Qantas Points. My account has also be targeted with a double Status Credits on all eligible Qantas operated domestic and international flights (make sure you check your email!).

Hilton Honors has just unveiled the final promotion for the last quarter of 2017 - members will be able to earn double Hilton Honors Points for all eligible stays between 01 September 2017 and 31 December 2017. As usual, registration is absolutely necessary (and should be done before you complete your stay) and Diamond Hilton Honors members will even get a special targeted offer which from the looks of it, seem rather universal at this point.
While most banks in Singapore allow you to convert your points (or equivalent currency) earned from credit card spend into Airline or Hotel points, Citibank has one of the most comprehensive list of points transfer partners - I have previously counted the total number of partners to be at 12 but they have apparently removed Delta Skymiles from the list. There are currently 11 airline points transfer partners for Citibank if you hold an eligible credit card in Singapore.
As the Q2 IHG Accelerate promotion is coming to an end on 31 August 2017, it is now possible to get in early and register for the upcoming Q3 Accelerate promotion (valid for stays between 01 September 2017 to 31 December 2017) for a chance to earn a lot of points. In case you do not remember what this promotion is, it is basically a set of tasks that are tailored to your IHG Rewards Club account based on stay history and elite status. Completing these tasks will trigger an achievement bonus (which is usually quite impressive) that could potentially earn you a lot of IHG Rewards Club points!
Purchase at least 10,000 Bonus Points with the World of Hyatt program and get 40% more points between now and 9 August 2017. Earn up to 3x Le Club AccorHotels Points when you stay in an eligible property across Asia-Pacific from 10 June 2017 to 10 September (registration is absolutely necessary). These bonus points are awarded in addition to the Rewards Points and Status Points that are usually earned by the Le Club AccorHotels member. As I have covered previously, the Le Club AccorHotels loyalty program gives a certain percentage of cashback in terms of points and this can go as high as 8.8% if you are a Platinum member. With this promotion, you may be eligible for up to 18.8% cashback as a Platinum member!
Robertson Quay in Singapore is getting pretty exciting - the InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay is already taking reservations from 01 September 2017 (just in time for the F1 Night Race!). It seems like the property has already started to offer a special Ambassador 4,000 Bonus Points package (S$14++ above Best Flexible Rate) for stays from 01 September 2017 - these are great if you have to purchase a flexible rate but want to achieve your IHG Rewards Club elite status faster (they count towards elite-qualifying points).
Accruing points and miles is therapeutic - I would even go as far to say that it is even more satisfying that watching your savings grow. From now until 19 May 2017, benefit from 100% bonus IHG Rewards Club points when you purchase using this link. If you were to purchase the maximum number of points allowed (60,000) in a calendar year, you will get 120,000 IHG Rewards Club Points (after the 100% bonus) for US$690 (S$963) which may offer great value at a number of InterContinental properties in the region.
Now that Starwood Hotels and Resorts is part of the greater Marriott International portfolio, it would make sense to view the brands simultaneously (especially since you get reciprocal elite benefits across SPG, Marriott Rewards and Ritz-Carlton Rewards now). For stays between 27 May 2017 and 4 September 2017, be sure to register for Marriott Rewards' MegaBonus and SPG's Take Three promotion to maximise on the upcoming stays. If you do not have any status with any program, remember you can get SPG Gold (and therefore Marriott Rewards Gold) with just one stay if you have a World MasterCard issued in Asia-Pacific!
