Now that Starwood Hotels and Resorts is part of the greater Marriott International portfolio, it would make sense to view the brands simultaneously (especially since you get reciprocal elite benefits across SPG, Marriott Rewards and Ritz-Carlton Rewards now). For stays between 27 May 2017 and 4 September 2017, be sure to register for Marriott Rewards' MegaBonus and SPG's Take Three promotion to maximise on the upcoming stays. If you do not have any status with any program, remember you can get SPG Gold (and therefore Marriott Rewards Gold) with just one stay if you have a World MasterCard issued in Asia-Pacific!
MegaBonus with Marriott
Register HERE to get 2,000 bonus points per stay (from second stay) and an additional 2,000 points with each new brand you stay with between 27 May 2017 to 4 September 2017. The first stay establishes the brand and no bonus points would be posted but you will earn 2,000 points + 2,000 points for each subsequent brand you stay with following that (to maximise this promotion, do 1-night stays!). Remember you can convert your Marriott Rewards points freely into Starpoints at a 3:1 ratio (in 1,000 blocks).
Take Three with Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG)
Register HERE for double Starpoints on weekdays and triple Starpointson weekends for stays between 27 May 2017 and 4 September 2017. Make sure that the hotel you are staying at is a Participating Hotel for this promotion. If you do not have SPG Gold status yet, this is a great time to take advantage of that World MasterCard promotion which will give you Gold Elite status in just one stay - your stay has to be completed before 14 July 2017!
Summer Sojorns with Ritz-Carlton Rewards

Hilton is currently running a 50% off flash sale once again for all participating properties in Japan, South Korea and Guam (yes this includes to marvellous Conrad Tokyo and the super-convenient Hilton Tokyo in Shinjuku). This 50% off sale will run until 2:00PM (JST) on 24 November 2017 for all stays between 21 November 2017 and 30 June 2018.
The Citi Rewards Card is one of the best credit cards in Singapore to hold in my opinion - it offers 4 miles per dollar on shopping expenses (this includes spend in departmental stores as well) and from time to time it partners up with a merchant to offer 20X Rewards which is equivalent to a whooping 8 miles per S$1. From now until the end of 31 December 2017, cardholders will be able to earn 8 miles per dollar on all eligible transactions made on Lazada or via the Amazon Prime Now App.
The InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is currently running Your World Sale to offer up to 30% off all eligible stays between 18 November 2017 and 15 April 2018 for all IHG Rewards Club members (free to sign-up!). IHG Rewards Club members will also earn Bonus Points on stays booked with Your World Sale.
There is currently a 35% sale that Hilton is running across all participating properties that you can check out here. The sale is running until 8:00AM GMT (essentially 4:00PM in Singapore) on 13 November 2017 so there's still time to take advantage of this offer. All stays have to be completed by 31 December 2018.
The Westin Singapore officially opened on 12 November 2013 and to celebrate her fourth anniversary, the property is offering a three-day flash sale (from Sunday) for weekend stays between 15 December 2017 and 28 February 2018 (black-out dates apply). The room rates begin from just S$270++ for a Deluxe Room and it comes with complimentary breakfast for two as well as internet access.
Sign-up for the KrisFlyer Spree eNewsletter by 20 November 2017 to be eligible for a 20% bonus on all transactions made via KrisFlyer Spree from 24 November 2017 to 30 November 2017. All KrisFlyer miles earned on tracked purchases will be calculated based on the bonus KrisFlyer mile earn rate.
Back in July, I wrote about the opportunity to purchase 31,200 Citi Miles for S$238 - this is something that you do not see very often at all in Singapore. It is common to get bonus miles when you sign-up (or renew) and pay the annual fee of an eligible credit card in Singapore. However, being able to purchase miles at $0.0076 each is unheard of!
Uber has been my preferred method of transport and being able to earn 1 Starpoint per USD (albeit little) has been a nice bonus throughout the last couple of years. I have received an email today notifying me that the Uber and SPG partnership will end after 17 December 2017 and members will no longer be able to earn Starpoints from rides.
Running low on IHG Rewards Club Points? Make sure you sign-up for the Accelerate Q4 2017 challenge to earn extra IHG Rewards Club Points when you complete specific challenges that are tailored based on your stay and spend history (my account was targeted for 42,500 bonus points)! Purchase IHG Rewards Club Points between now and 03 November 2017 to get 100% bonus points (minimum purchase of 5,000 points at US$67.50 required).
The DISCOVERY Loyalty program offers some of the most rewarding benefits and it is amongst my favourite loyalty programs - it offers up to 6:00PM late check-out (which is perfect for late night flights and staycation in Singapore) as well as a generous double upgrade where available when you hit the top tier Black level (30 elite qualifying nights each year). Register for the promotion to earn double tier night credits on all eligible hotel stays from 18 October 2017 to 31 December 2017.
