The Canvas of Views Room Package at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore - Club Deluxe Marina Room

The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore is one of the most iconic luxury hotels in Singapore and it was also voted as one of “The World’s Sexiest Bathrooms” by the Tatler Cunard Travel Guide. To showcase the various art pieces within the hotel as well as to promote great appreciation towards art and science, the property has introduced the Canvas of Views room package which comes with overnight accommodation, daily club access, a pair of tickets to the ArtScience Museum as well as various other perks that you can enjoy during your stay.

Alongside a handful of guests, I was invited down by the property to experience the Canvas of Views room package for myself. Honestly, I have not stayed at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore for one reason only - it does not participate in the Marriott Rewards program and therefore, you will not earn any points and eligible room nights from your stay here. However, with that being said, I understand from my conversations with some hotel staff that elite guests in the program are still given preferential treatment here unofficially. Additionally, this property also offers FHR rates (which you can access with The Platinum Card by American Express) so you will get to enjoy a range of FHR benefits here when you book that rate.

Bedroom
Club Deluxe Marina Room - The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

The Club Deluxe Marina room that I stayed in comes with 51sqm of space and it features that famous and ever-iconic view of the Marina Bay. The main difference between the Club Deluxe Marina room and the lead-in room category, Deluxe Kallang room is the view as well as Club benefits that you get. The club-level rooms are also located on higher floors of the property to ensure that you get the best views available. While you do not have a partitioned-off living area here in the Club Deluxe Marina room, there is plenty of living space here for you to lounge around and more importantly, to enjoy what is perhaps one of Singapore's most coveted views.

Walk-in Wardrobe and Bathroom
Club Deluxe Marina Room - The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

There is a walk-in wardrobe (with a sliding door) by the entrance where you will be able to unpack your luggage and find other necessities like the iron, laundry bags, bathrobes and bathroom slippers. You will also be able to find some of the controls to the room (e.g. air-conditioning settings) by the side of the wall. The room comes with a wall-mounted 46-inch LED TV that comes stocked with a huge selection of both cable and satellite channels - there is also a DVD player located underneath it but honestly, I am just not too sure if they are still relevant in this day and age.

Welcome Amenities
Club Deluxe Marina Room - The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

I received a massive bowl of fresh tropical fruits as part of my welcome amenities and getting longans is always a treat (and a conversation starter for international guests). Plenty of drinking water is also provided in little plastic bottles which can be replenished for free upon request. As you would imagine, a Nespresso coffee machine can also be found here by the table under the TV and complimentary coffee capsules are provided in one of the drawers underneath it.

Room with a View
Club Deluxe Marina Room - The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

It goes without saying that the view is probably the most impressive aspect of this room - you will be able to enjoy iconic views of the Marina Bay as well as waterfront attractions when you stay in the Club Deluxe Marina room. You should also make a mental note to check out the light show at Marina Bay Sands (which you can watch from the comfort of your own room or tub) at 8:00PM and 9:00PM daily - there is an additional one at 10:00PM on Fridays and Saturdays.

Universal Power Outlet
Club Deluxe Marina Room - The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

While I would love to be able to work from this room during normal office hours, I was only there for a short weekend. However, if you are one of the lucky ones, WiFi is complimentary and you do not actually need to login in order to access it - great speeds for streaming Netflix too if you are here on a vacation! There are two universal power outlets tucked away at the side of the table and there is even a HDMI port to project your screen onto the TV should you require it.

Plush Bed
Club Deluxe Marina Room - The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

The Club Deluxe Marina rooms here at the Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore come with either a king-size bed or two twin bed so make sure you make your bedding preferences known before you arrive - a rollaway bed (if required) can also be requested for a fee. Honestly, the boxy layout of the room and the abundance of natural daylight makes the room feel a lot bigger than it actually is. Standing at 51sqm in size, the room is comparatively larger to the average room size in competing properties around Marina Bay but the layout further enhances that perception of space.

Bedside Light Controls
Club Deluxe Marina Room - The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

The day blinds and night curtains are automated and they can be controlled via a panel located inside the bedside table. It is actually carefully tucked away so it is easy to miss it if you are not looking close enough. Most of the lighting in the room as well as bedroom can also be controlled from this panel - there is another universal power outlet located on the other side of the bed for you to keep your mobile devices juiced as you fall asleep on that wonderful bed.

Iconic Bathroom Windows
Club Deluxe Marina Room - The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

Finally, the marble bathroom of the Club Deluxe Marina room needs no introduction - the iconic hexagonal windows by the tub offers panoramic views of the cityscape and the famous Marina Bay. Click on the Instagram location tag of this property reveals a common shot that is often imitated amongst hotel guests. Unfortunately, I was not confident enough to take a shot like that during my stay but that should be on top of any luxury traveler's list.

Asprey Purple Water Bath Amenities
Club Deluxe Marina Room - The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

Similar to my previous stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, bath amenities are provided by Asprey and they smell great! Even though the property in Singapore does not cost as much as the one in Hong Kong, there are still so many ways to get the most out of your stays. As I have mentioned earlier in the article, this was an invited stay but I am definitely thinking about booking an FHR Rate soon for USD 100 of F&B Credits.

View from Bathtub
Club Deluxe Marina Room - The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

The view from the bathroom is unrivaled and honestly, rooms that are facing Kallang almost feel inferior compared to those that face the main Marina Bay area. Thankfully the weather was great when I visited and I managed to enjoy this remarkable view during my stay. As you can imagine, room rates here (particularly for rooms that face the bay area) are through the roof during national day and special holidays where fireworks are expected - try booking one of the NDP rehearsal weekends and you will not regret it!

Pantry
Club Lounge - The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore offers a myriad of perks and privileges for guests with Club access - this starts with a personalised check-in that is offered in-room or at the Club Lounge (which I personally prefer). The lounge also provides five culinary presentations throughout the day while offering one of the best views of Singapore in this exclusive space:

  • Breakfast: 6:30AM to 10:30AM

  • Mid-Day Snacks: 11:30AM to 2:00PM

  • Afternoon Tea: 2:30PM to 4:30PM

  • Hors d’oeuvres and Cocktails: 5:00PM to 8:00PM

  • Chocolates Pralines and Cordials: 8:30PM to 10:30PM

Pantry
Club Lounge - The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

The pantry area of the Club Lounge changes throughout the day but the one that you definitely should not miss the evening cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. It is also worth noting that Champagne is served all-day so you do not actually have to rush back for a drink. The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong offered free-flowing Louis Roederer Brut Premier all-day when I visited it slightly over a year ago but The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore has recently switched out its House Champagne to the exclusive Champagne Barons de Rothschild – Ritz Reserve which is curated specially for Ritz-Carlton properties.

Evening Canapés
Club Lounge - The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

Guests with access to the Club Lounge are also encouraged to spend the afternoon relaxing in The Drawing Room - an easel and drawing materials are provided for guests to exhibit their artistic flair and even though guests are allowed to take home their masterpieces for memories, there are a number of impressive drawings that have been left behind there. While I am not the most artistically-inclined person around, I am very much in touch with my alcoholic side so I was in my element at the Club Lounge - there is a small selection of hot and cold food items in the pantry and these change on a day to day basis.

To the side of the Club Lounge is where you will find The Library where it can accommodate boardroom meeting of up to 10 guests (for a fee) - there is also a massive 75-inch LED TV inside. This coveted spot is also a great place to base yourself in during the evening cocktail hours since you will then have a private room to not only sip that delicious Champagne but also to watch the sun go down.

Turndown Amenity
Club Lounge - The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

I got back to my room after having plenty to drink and I found an art palette chocolate turn-down amenity - this is exclusive to guests staying under the Canvas of Views room package only. On the first night of the stay, guests will receive bon bons on an art palette during the evening turn-down service and the Cornucopia Upper Crust on the second night. For that perfect ending, guests who have booked this room package will also be able to enjoy a butler-drawn Provence bath - I highly recommend for you to arrange this before sunset in order to have the perfect photo opportunity.

Breakfast
Club Lounge - The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

Since I had something on in the afternoon the next day, I decided to sleep in a little and enjoy breakfast at the Club Lounge (Colony has a greater spread but it does get quite busy if you go after 9:00AM). There are other perks that are offered to club guests like a complimentary limousine service in the vicinity from 7:00AM to 10:00PM but I did not manage to utilise them during this short stay. Altogether, the stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore has been a rather impressive one - the views are unrivaled and the quality of F&B here on property remains to be one of the best in Singapore.
