Grab to Add Processing Fee to GrabPay Wallet Top-ups under S$400 using Visa Credit Cards from 01 June, No More PayNow QR from 01 April

Starting from 01 June 2021, Grab will be introducing a S$1 processing fee for all GrabPay Wallet top-ups under S$400 when you use a Visa credit card. As you already know, most credit cards have stopped awarding points and rebates on GrabPay Wallet top-ups (with the exception of American Express issued cards which are currently running an offer through 10 May 2021 but moving forward, you should consider using a Mastercard or American Express credit card to top-up your wallet.

As some of you may already know, GrabPay Wallet top-ups using PayNow QR will also be discontinued from 01 April 2021. If you have been using this feature to earn a weekly scratch card on Google Pay, you will lose this opportunity from 01 April 2021. With the introduction of PayNow VPA top-ups since 08 February 2021, users can now transfer money in and out of their GrabPay Wallets easily (this does not apply to funds that are coming in via your credit cards).

While a S$1 processing fee might not be much, it certainly is something that you should try to avoid by using either the new PayNow VPA method or an alternative credit card.
