Apart from taking an actual flight, there are six additional ways to accumulate status credits between 07 April 2021 to 28 February 2022:

  1. Spend on KrisShop

  2. Spend on Kris+ Partners

  3. Convert Bank Points to KrisFlyer Miles (minimum of 10,000 per conversion)

  4. Conversion of Bank Points to KrisPay Miles

  5. Spend on Co-Brand Cards

  6. Spend or Conversion with Non-Air Partners

If you are currently not an elite member in the KrisFlyer program, you will be able to upgrade your membership tier to KrisFlyer Elite Silver or KrisFlyer Elite Gold. KrisFlyer elite members will be able to renew their status, and also upgrade to a higher tier if applicable. Do note that you will not be able to qualify for Solitaire PPS Club or PPS Club if you do not already hold the status currently - you will however be able to qualify for PPS Club from actual flying.

From 7-21 April 2021, PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite members will be able to earn double status credits qualifying transactions made through spends on KrisShop, KrisFlyer Spree and at Kris+ partners, to help accelerate the status credits they earn towards their next membership renewal or upgrade.

Solitaire PPS Club: S$50,000

Conversion of Bank Points to KrisFlyer Miles or KrisPay Miles

Planning to convert some of your bank points into KrisFlyer Miles or KrisPay Miles? You will be able to accrue PPS Value or Elite miles with a minimum conversion of 10,000 miles (in equivalent bank points) each time. PPS Club members will earn 1 PPS Value for every 10 KrisFlyer miles converted while KrisFlyer members will earn 1 Elite mile with every 5 KrisFlyer miles converted. These are the minimum number of KrisFlyer miles in total (you do not have to do it all in a single transaction) that you would have to convert in order to attain or retain the respective membership tiers:

Solitaire PPS Club: 500,000 KrisFlyer Miles
PPS Club: 250,000 KrisFlyer Miles
KrisFlyer Elite Gold: 250,000 KrisFlyer Miles
KrisFlyer Elite Silver: 125,000 KrisFlyer Miles

Spend on Co-Brand Cards

Co-brand cardholders can earn 1 PPS Value for every 10 KrisFlyer miles earned or 1 Elite mile for every 5 KrisFlyer miles earned. Depending on the co-brand card that you are holding, the minimum spend requirement will be different as the earn rates are different. To illustrate this, I will use The American Express® Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Ascend Credit Card as an example - this card earns 1.2 KrisFlyer Miles per S$1 on regular purchases:

Solitaire PPS Club: S$416,667
PPS Club: S$208,334
KrisFlyer Elite Gold: S$208,334
KrisFlyer Elite Silver: S$104,167

As you can see, the spend requirement is extremely high and it seems unlikely that anyone would put S$400,000 worth of spend on a card that earns you 1.2 miles per dollar. This may be a good way to supplement the amount you require but it certainly does not feasible for most people.

Spend or Conversion with Non-Air Partners

With a minimum of 500 KrisFlyer miles earned with non-air partners or a conversion of a non-air partner’s loyalty points into a minimum of 500 KrisFlyer miles, members will be able to earn PPS Value and Elite mile during the promotional period. These are the minimum number of KrisFlyer miles in total (you do not have to do it all in a single transaction) that you would have to convert in order to attain or retain the respective membership tiers:

Solitaire PPS Club: 500,000 KrisFlyer Miles
PPS Club: 250,000 KrisFlyer Miles
KrisFlyer Elite Gold: 250,000 KrisFlyer Miles
KrisFlyer Elite Silver: 125,000 KrisFlyer Miles

There are various ways to earn PPS Value and Elite miles between 07 April 2021 to 28 February 2022 and you may consider using a combination of methods to help you get to where you want to be. I would personally consider converting some of my bank reward points into KrisFlyer miles (depending on how the ATBs turn out), and it should be a relatively easy way to attain KrisFlyer Elite Gold status.
