If you are based in Singapore, you should already know that Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles is great for redemption flights on Japan Airlines and Cathay Pacific - you can also use them on Singapore Airlines but it is generally a better idea to use KrisFlyer Miles instead. While you were previously able to redeem a round-trip (almost!) flight in Business Class for just 25,000 Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles, you will now require 50,000 Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles for a round-trip instead. Still, compared to 94,000 KrisFlyer miles, you might still find value in these miles.

At this point it is unclear whether Alaska Airlines will continue to run attractive bonuses on mileage purchases and while a 50% bonus is not the best deal that we have seen in recent times, it is worth considering if you are trying to make travel plans for the months or year ahead. If you are based in Singapore, the DBS Woman's World Card will allow you to earn 4 miles per dollar on this purchase (capped at S$2,000 per calendar month) - be sure to check out which credit cards in Singapore gives you the best mileage accrual rate!
