The Cordis, Auckland was unveiled recently after a multi-million dollar refurbishment to convert the previous The Langham, Auckland into this modern and upscale property in Auckland. The Hong Kong-based Langham Hospitality Group has announced new expansion plans that will make the upper upscale hotel the largest in New Zealand in terms of room count - a total of 650 rooms and suites!

I visited the City of Sails back in November 2016 for work and as much as I wanted to stay in the Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour (check out my review HERE!), the hotel was running high on occupancy and the room rates were way above the rates that I paid back in 2015. Since the meetings were primarily going to happen in The Langham, Auckland, I decided to stay in the property itself since it meant being able to sleep-in and get to the meetings on time. Langham Refreshes Loyalty Program (1865 Privilege) - Qualification by Room Nights

The 1865 Membership by Langham Hotels & Resorts has just been refreshed with some improvements (alongside a name change). The newly-refreshed 1865 Privilege will now allow qualification (and renewal) by eligible room nights instead of just eligible stays. The names of the different tiers are staying the same but travellers are now rewarded for staying longer.

Langham Sydney Refurbishment Works from 24 July 2014

The Langham Sydney will be closing its doors on 24 July 2014 (Thursday) for four months in order to make way for refurbishment works. The $30 million refurbishment will transform the iconic landmark hotel into Sydney's most exclusive harbourside address. 

The renovation will include a complete redevelopment and refurbishment of the lobby, dining areas, guest rooms and residential-style ballroom with an aesthetic blending sophistication and timeless elegance with custom-made furnishings and treatments.

Bringing the hotel into line with its international sister properties, signature Langham luxuries such as Chuan Spa and Palm Court will be also introduced.

The 96-room residence boasts the largest guestrooms in Sydney at 49 square metres (527 square feet) with opening windows and balconies. From its central Kent Street address, guests can enjoy sweeping western harbourside views, and a tranquil yet convenient location in proximity to some of the city’s most iconic destinations.
