A Recipe for Free Travel

Kaligo offers the opportunity to chalk up miles quickly and effectively, enabling you to take your next free flight out sooner. Here is a quick case in point on Citi Miles - say for example, you wish to spend a week in Singapore over Christmas:

You will earn 10 Citi Miles per S$1 spent on Kaligo - including expenditure on applicable taxes. On top of this, you will earn the usual base earning rates that your Citibank PremierMiles Credit Cards give you - 1.2 Citi Miles (or 1.4 Citi Miles on the AMEX version) on Local (SGD) Currency and 2.0 Citi Miles on Foreign Currency. As such, you will earn between 46,748 to 50,088 Citi Miles on this reservation alone! This is more than enough for a round-trip on Singapore Airlines Saver to Taipei, Korea or the Middle East (amongst many other destinations) on Economy!

The Future of Kaligo

While it is too early to make a judgement on whether or not Kaligo offers the best rates in the market, the earning rate for miles is simply unbelievable. 50,000 Citi Miles on an approximate spend of S$4,174 (in the example above) is truly impressive. No credit cards in the Singapore market is able to give you anything that is remotely close to that. If you're chasing cash backs, 50,000 Citi Miles is equivalent to S$500 (2,000 Citi Miles = $20) which is effectively 12% cash back. If you prefer Hilton Honors Points, 50,000 Citi Miles is equivalent to 75,000 HHonors Points which is enough for 15 nights (or 18 nights if you are a Silver/Gold/Diamond Member) at the DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru hotel.

I am personally extremely excited about the future of Kaligo and would like to see how it evolves over the next couple of months. Staying competitive in this industry is tough but the future seems bright for Kaligo!
