I recently got a pretty interesting email offering me the opportunity to bid for a seat on Premium Economy. Basically, I can offer to pay any amount between S$100 (minimum) and S$580 (the approximate normal upgrade price) and basically if my offer is accepted, I will have to pay the amount that I have offered. Fair enough!

I think this is quite a good concept and it's great for people who are willing to pay a little bit more for a nicer flight. S$580 on top of the regular fare may be quite a bit to pay for an upgrade on a 3-hour flight but if your offer of S$100 is accepted, this isn't a bad deal at all!
