OCBC has become the first bank in Singapore to offer Alipay+ Travel Treat within its banking app, letting customers claim and redeem merchant vouchers when paying by QR code overseas. The feature launched on 28 October 2026 and covers more than 200 merchants across mainland China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia and Thailand, with more destinations promised.

OCBC has supported Alipay+ QR payments since 2024, allowing customers to pay overseas merchants directly from their Singapore bank account in more than 55 destinations. Travel Treat layers dining, shopping and travel offers on top of this, so you no longer need a separate app or loyalty programme to access merchant deals abroad.
Participating merchants include several names familiar to Singaporean travellers:
Japan: Matsuya Food, Don Quijote
South Korea: The Shilla Duty-Free
Malaysia: Suria KLCC and TRX Mall in Kuala Lumpur
Multiple markets: Shake Shack, 7-Eleven
Vouchers can be claimed before your trip, and new users also appear to get a welcome voucher (the app screens show a 50% off “New User Discount” with no minimum spend).

How to Claim and Use Your Voucher
Log in to the OCBC app, tap Rewards, then select Alipay+ Travel Treat.
Browse deals by destination and category.
Tap Claim to add a voucher to your account.
View your claimed vouchers under My vouchers.
At the merchant, select the voucher and tap Use it before paying.
Complete payment by scanning or showing your Alipay+ QR code.
Do read the usage instructions on each voucher. The sample in OCBC’s guide is valid for 30 days after collection, limited to one voucher per transaction and must be presented before payment.
This is a sensible addition for anyone already using the OCBC app to pay in China, where QR payments are close to unavoidable. OCBC says the number of customers paying Alipay+ merchants overseas through its app more than doubled in the first eight months of 2026 compared with the same period last year, so the audience is clearly there.
The elephant in the room for miles chasers is that Alipay+ payments through the OCBC app are debited from your bank account rather than charged to a credit card, so you will not earn miles on that spend. For larger purchases, a 4 mpd card (paired with Amaze to manage FX fees) will usually remain the better play. Where Travel Treat makes sense is for smaller-ticket dining and convenience store spend, or at merchants where the voucher discount comfortably outweighs the miles you would forgo. It costs nothing to claim a few vouchers before your next trip to Tokyo or Shanghai, so I would at least check what is available for your destination.
OCBC is the first Singapore bank to bring Alipay+ Travel Treat vouchers into its app, covering over 200 merchants across seven destinations.
