Earn up to 6.94 Miles per S$1 with American Express EXTRA Partners
American Express Singapore has quite recently updated the list of EXTRA Partners for 2016 (with the inclusion of a few new merchants). For those of you that do not already know this, American Express Charge Cardholders (Platinum and Centurion) earn 20 Membership Rewards (MR) points per S$1.60 at all EXTRA Partners for the first S$16,000 spent (and then 10 MR points with no cap). Based on the current conversion rates of 9 MR = 5 KrisFlyer (KF) Miles, S$1 spend on these cards at any of the EXTRA Partners will give you approximately 6.94 Miles (or equivalent).

To put things into perspective, consider the following scenario where you've just charged S$5,000 worth of electronics at Harvey Norman to one of your Charge Cards. Assuming that you have not already spent S$16,000, this will earn you 62,500 MR Points which can be converted into approximately 34,722 KF Miles (not bad at all!). If you do not hold an elite charge card, you will earn 10 MR Points per S$1.60 at all EXTRA Partners if you carry any one of the Platinum Credit Cards (3.47 Miles per S$1).
