Singapore GP's TrackChef Culinary Competition 2015
As Singapore is gearing up towards the 2015 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix that will be happening in a couple of months, the finals of the inaugural culinary initiative organised by race promoter Singapore GP was held yesterday. The competition saw 36 different contestants (who came from different five-star hotels in Singapore as well as pastry chef apprentices from At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy) come together to design a brand new hospitality menu for the Singapore F1 Night Race this year.
Participating hotels were divided into three teams (Team 1: Grand Hyatt Singapore and Sheraton Towers Singapore, Team 2: Intercontinental Singapore and Marina Mandarin Singapore, Team 3: Pan Pacific Singapore and Mandarin Oriental Singapore) and the winner for the 2015 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix is Team 2.
If you are thinking about attending the 2016 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix this year, you should definitely check out the early bird deals that are exclusive to PPS Club and KrisFlyer members - check out the difference between these two clubs and how you can achieve them here! The F1 Deals come with up to 6,000 bonus miles and if you use them with the DBS Woman's World MasterCard (which gives you 4 miles per S$1 with eligible online spend), you can earn over 10,000 KrisFlyer Miles by just attending the night race.
If you are looking for a hotel to stay in during the 2016 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix (16-19 September 2016) this year, check out the Conrad Centennial Singapore because reward nights are wide open for redemption! While I usually do not advocate burning your Hilton HHonors Points in Singapore since that 60,000 points can be put to greater use, it is actually wise to use them for the F1 period if you intend on being here.
If you are already thinking about getting tickets for the upcoming 2016 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix which will run from 16 to 18 September 2016 this year, good on you! It is always a good idea to make travel plans early (especially in events like these) in order to take full advantage of "Early Bird" discounts. Singapore's most famous buffet, The Line at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore, has a new Chef de Cuisine Vincent Wong. In view of the F1 weekend in Singapore this month, Chef Vincent has prepared a special menu for this special occasion - foie gras presented TEN ways, 13 different types of fresh seafood on ice, 30 types of Old and New World cheese and most importantly, UNLIMITED servings of Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque 2007.
We all know The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore has quite a reputation for throwing some of the biggest and most extravagant champagne brunches in this city. Last week I wrote about the opening of a new restaurant, Colony, and the hotel is using this F1 season to showcase the beautiful space. During the Singapore Grand Prix Weekend 2015 this year, indulge in a Vintage Champagne Brunch on 20 September 2015 (12pm to 330pm). Prepare for the night race by fueling up with unlimited servings of eight different ‘live’ stations.
If you are looking for an inclusive package for the Singapore Grand Prix weekend in 2015, the "Race-After-Party" package is definitely one to check out. The only catch? It starts from S$4,050++ for three nights (18-20 September 2015).
It pays to be a Gold Passport Member! The Grand Hyatt Singapore is offering you a complimentary pair of Bay Grandstand tickets to the 2015 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix. All you have to do is be a Gold Passport Member and make a reservation between now and 18 September for stays between 17-20 September 2015.
