Partnering up with Nutrition Australia, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®) has recently launched a newly-created Holiday Inn® Hotels & Resorts Kids’ Menu, across the Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region. The brand new menu will feature delicious and visually-appealing dishes that caters to the small ones’ big imaginations. More importantly, they have been carefully created with nutrition at heart, so parents can rest assured knowing their kids are being fed well.
IHG is commited to ensuring that all meals on the Kids' Menu contain a nutritious balance from the core food groups; low in saturated fats, sugar and salt. They will also provide a balance of vegetables, meat and wholegrain foods plus fruit or dairy where relevant, offering a variety of colours, flavours and textures to educate and encourage kids to enjoy healthy eating.
A set of 34 main meals (including 12 regional dishes), 7 desserts and 10 drinks have been developed in total to ensure that hotels from across the region can cater to local and international tastes. Each hotel hand-picks a smaller selection of dishes for their menu that is most suitable for the palates of their guests.
When I visited Bangkok back in February (yes this stay was almost 8 months back), the hotel rates were through the roof for some reason on that weekend that I was there. As such, I decided to redeem some of my IHG Rewards Club points for a stay at the InterContinental Bangkok. I flew in from Haneda to Bangkok on Japan Airlines Business Class and was pleasantly impressed by the overall experience - the food (both in terms of taste and presentation) was great and the on-board service was truly memorable. Even though I was given a premium lane pass, I decided to use the automated gates instead since the queue there was even shorter.
Book a Club InterContinental room or higher in any InterContinental Hotels and Resorts in Singapore, Bali, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam before 17 October 2018 to get the third night free. Stays have to be consumed between 01 November 2018 and 31 March 2019 and the maximum stays length for this promotion is 6 nights (this will include 2 complimentary nights). It is also a good idea to time this with the latest Accelerate offer (which you can sign-up HERE) to get the most bang for your buck.
When the InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay first opened in Singapore back in 2017, it required 60,000 IHG Rewards Points per reward night. The hotel is the country's second InterContinental-branded property and it features luxurious rooms and suites (albeit small) in the heart of Robertson Quay. While shopping for hotel rooms recently, I noticed that the InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay only requires 50,000 IHG Rewards Points now for a free night - this puts it on par with the InterContinental Singapore in Bugis which I personally prefer.
Under a new management agreement between Siam Sindhorn and IHG, Thailand will be getting her first Kimpton-branded property in 2020. The Kimpton Bangkok will feature 349 specially-curated and artfully-designed guest rooms - this also includes 124 serviced residences.
I stayed at the new InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay a couple of months ago and checked out the Club Riverview Studio King. When the hotel first opened towards the end of 2017, the room rates here are consistently higher than the InterContinental Singapore in Bugis (which is still my preferred IC property in Singapore). However, while I was 'window-shopping' for a weekend staycation, I realised that you can now get a breakfast-inclusive rate at the InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay for as little as S$175++.
So it appears that Singapore will be getting another Holiday Inn Express property at the beginning of next year - I only realised this when I was trying to book the InterContinental Singapore (again!) for a future stay. The Holiday Inn Express Singapore Serangoon will become Singapore's fourth Holiday Inn Express property and it appears that it will be taking over the existing Pinnacle Hotel based on the address.
IHG Singapore has just launched a brand new weekend stay experience across all nine properties in Singapore to offer more value for couples and families alike. From now until 30 December 2018, rediscover the Lion City with a loved one and enjoy specially-curated benefits like discounted dining credit, complimentary cocktails or enjoy board games with your family when you book the Jump Start Weekend room package.
A management agreement has been signed between the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Watson Elite for Sydney's first Hotel Indigo which is slated to open in 2021. The third Hotel Indigo property planned for Australia (following the Hotel Indigo Brisbane Fortitude Valley as well as Hotel Indigo Melbourne Docklands), Hotel Indigo Sydney Central, will be located opposite Capitol Square in the central precinct of Sydney.
The Crowne Plaza Changi Airport has once again been named the World's Best Airport Hotel as well as the Best Airport Hotel in Asia for the fourth consecutive year at the World Airport Awards by Skytrax. In addition to this, the property will also be celebrating her 10th anniversary this year by giving away a grand prize worth S$18,000 (inclusive of 1 million IHG Rewards Club points!) as well as special room packages with added benefits.
The InterContinental Hotels Group has just announced its agreement to acquire 51% stake in Regent Hotels and Resorts (which in turn makes them the largest shareholder) for $39 million in cash. They will then have the right to acquire the remaining 49% interest in a phased manner from 2026.
