Purchase United MileagePlus Miles with 100% Bonus - Great for First Class Flights to Australia!
A couple of months ago, I wrote about the opportunity to purchase United MileagePlus Miles with a 100% Bonus. In case you have missed out on that, United MileagePlus is currently offering up to 100% Bonus on purchased miles. Depending on your purchase and flight history with United Airlines, the bonus may be lower than 100%. While traveling on United Airlines may not be the most enticing way to travel for most people, using these United MileagePlus Miles are a great way to get from Singapore to Australia in a premium cabin.

There is an annual limit of 150,000 United MileagePlus Miles that you can purchase - this number includes the bonus amount that is given out from time to time but there is certainly no cap to the number of miles you can earn by crediting your flights to this program. My account was only targeted for a 50% bonus this time (even though I did get targeted for a 100% bonus the last round):
- Buy 5,000 - 9,000 miles | Get 25% bonus
- Buy 10,000 - 19,000 miles | Get 35% bonus
- Buy 20,000 - 100,000 miles | Get 50% bonus
Purchasing 100,000 miles will give me 150,000 MileagePlus Miles (since my account was only targeted with a 50% bonus) and it would cost me USD 3,500 (approx. SGD 4,759). Since these transactions are processed by Points.com, they would not count towards being an eligible flight transaction if you are thinking about using the DBS Altitude Credit Card.

In case you have not already seen the new cabin products on Singapore Airlines' new A380 planes, it looks brilliant and if you are planning on going to Sydney, you could very well be experiencing the brand new Suites and Business Class products! While availability for award flights via partner airline programs are typically lesser, redeeming United MileagePlus Miles for Business Class and First Class flights from Singapore to Sydney on Singapore Airlines can potentially be cheaper for you if your account was targeted for the 100% bonus. I recommend for you to check out the Award Chart before purchasing anything to work out whether purchasing United MileagePlus Miles at a 100% bonus is a lucrative decision for you.
Ideally, redeeming United MileagePlus Miles for a Suites flight from Singapore to Sydney is a dream but now that the actual inventory has been reduced to just six, redeeming on a partner airline program just seems impossible. If you are happy to fly in First Class and your account has been targeted for 100% bonus miles, check out the availability before purchasing and happy travels await!
Business Class passengers now enjoy complimentary inflight Wi-Fi when traveling on Cathay Pacific.
