Why I Am Upset with Marriott Bonvoy's Unlock More Global Promotion (29 October 2019 to 14 January 2020) And Then Some
Marriott Bonvoy is currently running a global promotion and upon successful registration, you will receive 2,000 bonus points after 2 stays (do note that award redemption stays do not count as an eligible stay for this promotion). After my stay at the W Xi'an (which was fantastic!) and the Four Points by Sheraton Singapore, Riverview, my targeted offer has been unlocked for me - you will have until 14 January 2020 to take advantage of this.

My additional offer promises '2,000 bonus points every two stays' (which is already terrible) and scrolling down reveals that I will only 'get 2,000 additional bonus points after four more stays' and then earn '2,000 bonus points every two stays through January 14, 2020'. What this means is that I will be required to stay four times for 2,000 bonus points (just 500 bonus points each stay) and then earn 2,000 bonus points subsequently for every two stays starting from my fifth.
Honestly, I am a little baffled; I love the properties within Marriott International and some of my favourite hotels in the world are within the brand's portfolio but my account has not been targeted with a personalised offer the entire year (apart from this global one, of course). I have been Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite since 2018 and I am one night shy away from re-qualification this year (which I will definitely hit in a couple of weeks) yet I have not received any targeted offers for the whole of 2019. At least half of my room nights are spent at luxury hotels (JW Marriotts, W Hotels and St. Regis) and I would think that my average room night would even out at approximately SGD 300-400.
I am unsure why my account has not been targeted with any decent offers (or any offers for that matter) and the only possible reason that I can think about is the fact that I typically book my stays way in advance. Perhaps the algorithm within the Marriott Bonvoy program does not see any point to provide me with an incentive since the trips have already been booked. If your account has not been targeted with any personalised offers this year, I would be interested to know how your booking pattern is like and whether my hypothesis is actually correct.
Planning a beach day can seem simple, but unexpected issues often arise. Mornington Peninsula’s beaches are popular, which means dealing with potential crowds, fluctuating weather, and poor preparation can easily ruin your outing. Arriving late might lead to parking challenges, and picking the wrong beach can limit your planned activities. Many forget important items that could make or break their beach experience, leading to stress and missed opportunities for relaxation.
