Citibank Refreshes Citi Rewards Card to offer 4 Miles per Dollar on all Online Transactions (except Travel/Top-ups) from 28 March 2019
The Citi Rewards Card is one of the best credit cards to have in Singapore since it enables you to earn 10X Rewards (equivalent to 4 miles per dollar) on all your shopping spend locally and overseas. Today, Citibank has announced an enhancement to this card - cardholders will now earn 10X Rewards (equivalent to 4 miles per dollar) on all online purchases (except mobile wallet top-ups and travel-related transactions).
Now, the refreshed Citi Rewards Card is not a replacement for the DBS Woman's World Mastercard (which is still the number credit card that everyone interested in miles - including guys - should have). The DBS Woman's World Mastercard has a monthly cap on bonus points for the first S$2,000 eligible spent in each statement period so the Citi Rewards Card is a nice fallback card to give you a little bit more leeway in case you do need to spend a little more. Now the only catch is this - the DBS Woman's World Mastercard does award 10X Points on travel purchases transacted online (even though sometimes hotel process this offline so it gets a little bit tricky) but the Citi Rewards Card does not. Additionally the Citi Rewards Card will not too award 10X Points on mobile wallet top-ups so you will probably not see bonus points awarded for GrabPay Wallet top-ups as an example.
There will be no change to the existing 10X Rewards on all local and overseas shopping (which is great news) so this is really an enhancement of the card (unlike the Citi Prestige limousine enhancement that was announced earlier this month). If you do not already have a Citi Rewards Card, make sure you sign-up via SingSaver to get up to S$200 worth of NTUC Fairprice vouchers, Takashimaya vouchers or Grab promo codes upon approval.
