New Qatar Airways Premium Lounge to open in Singapore Changi Airport (Terminal 1) in 2020
Singapore Changi Airport has seen a number of new airport lounge openings in the recent year - the Marhaba Lounge (which is now the temporary KrisFlyer Gold Lounge), the Changi Lounge (though technically this is in Jewel Changi Airport) as well as upcoming renovated Singapore Airlines lounges were all unveiled or announced this year. According to Executive Traveller, It appears that a brand new Qatar Airways lounge will open in Terminal 1 of Singapore Changi Airport come early 2020.
The Qatar Airways Premium Lounge Singapore is expected to open next year to serve both Business and First Class passengers of the airline as well as those traveling on an eligible carrier in the oneworld network. This will become Qatar Airways' second Premium Lounge in Asia after Suvarnabhumi Airport which opened last year. The brand new Qatar Airways Premium Lounge Singapore is currently under construction and it is expected to be located next to the The Emirates Lounge and the Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal 1.
You might remember that Qatar Airways is now a participating airline in the American Express International Airline Program which means American Express Centurion as well as Platinum members get to enjoy savings on flights in premium cabins - this might just be yet another reason to get The Platinum Card. At the time of writing, International Airline Partners for cardholders based in Singapore include Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, American Airlines, British Airways, Emirates, Etihad and Japan Airlines.
While there are no known plans for American Express to open a Centurion Lounge in Singapore Changi Airport at this point, the introduction of a Premium Lounge in Singapore is exciting enough - especially since Platinum members get to enjoy savings on Business and First Class flights!
