Mandarin Oriental, Taipei Temporarily Suspends Guestroom Operations - No Hotel Stays Until Further Notice
Opened back in 2014, the Mandarin Oriental, Taipei is one of the city's most exclusive (and expensive!) properties and it is also a landmark building in the heart of Taipei. Due to the impact of COVID-19 on the business, the Mandarin Oriental, Taipei has decided to temporarily suspend all guestroom operations from 01 June 2020 until further notice - this means that overnight hotel stays will not be possible.

The Mandarin Oriental, Taipei is an American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR) property and I have stayed there on a couple of occasions previously. While guestroom operations have been temporarily suspended, several restaurants and bars remain open (including the spa, banquet as well as meeting facilities).
The COVID-19 situation has put significant pressure on the economy and the hospitality industry has taken one of the biggest hits. At the time of writing, the Mandarin Oriental, Taipei has not officially published a date for accepting guest reservations but there are still other FHR properties in Taipei to choose from if you are visiting.
